UI Designer + Front-end Web Developer

Burpple is looking for talented designer + front-end developers to help visualize and create how people around the world interact with Burpple through their savory food moments. We believe that design is more than pretty pixels. You will be working in an exciting and creative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist and implement the visual designs of Burpple for mobile and web platforms
  • Develop pixel perfect Photoshop comps
  • Create and improve style guides
  • Storyboard/ prototype user experiences
  • Develop front-end web UI/UX experiences

Requirements:

  • A diverse portfolio that exhibits excellent use of typography, color, imagery and graphic elements
  • Knowledge of front end markup: HTML, CSS, Javascript
  • A scrappy, entrepreneurial attitude that gets high-quality projects done quickly
  • Pixel perfect attention to detail, consistency to key
  • Passion for how people interact with different platforms and environments
  • Willingness to take open and honest feedback

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience designing for mobile devices
  • Icon design
  • Information and communication design

Internships

This position starts summer 2013.

Wondering what you can accomplish in 12 weeks? We'd say a lot. Apply for an internship at Burpple and be a part of helping us build something big.

Responsibilities:

  • Be versatile.
  • Research, critique, write, propose, debate.
  • Inspire the entire team with great examples and stories.
  • Cook or bake cookies (informally with close co-workers) and get the team to go for lunch.
  • Unparalleled Google-fu or other methods of asking the internets
  • Mad ability to learn and adapt to ANYTHING

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Has used Burpple and is passionate and opinionated about this whole collaborative food journal discovery thing.
  • Is probably a student, or a recently graduated one. If you’re not a student but think an internship would still be a good fit, apply anyway and let us know why.
