This was the jiggliest warabi mochi I’ve ever had😂 but what stood out for me was that GIGANTIC ball of red bean! It’s chunky & slightly sweetened, complementing the cup’s other smoother components.

Even though I would have preferred more bitterness, this still satisfied my matcha cravings 🍵

Priced at SGD4.90, I will get the one from Hvala anytime anyday, even though it’s slightly more expensive...

Maybe their desserts will fare better😂

i think this must be how falling in love with matcha again feels like 💕💕💕

absolutely loved the matcha soft serve (though it melted so so fast) 🥰🥰🥰 it was super milky with a strong taste of matcha & we really liked how there’s a bitter aftertaste throughout which helped to offset the sweetness. the topping were so delightful too - the two mochis were chewy but not overly so, making it almost jelly-like, and it’s so easy to eat with the soft serve.

we also loved how generous they were with the brown sugar jelly!! it made every mouthful of the soft serve even more interesting as there’s a never ending supply of toppings.

one of the rare few places that had me craving for it again the moment i’m done with it???

8 warabi mochi coated with kinako powder and matcha powder in a cup.

Prefer the matcha based warabi mochi to brown sugar but the difference is quite subtle anyway. However, each piece is only barely coated with powder. Unlikely to repurchase based on this even if the texture of their warabi mochi is not bad - QQ, not too firm, not slimy.

The last time I bought it (long ago), they were more generous with the powder

Do pick the brown sugar sauce if you’re going for the matcha flavour, and matcha sauce if you’re going for the milk flavour! Ice cream melts kinda fast so be prepared and don’t eat the leaves on the cone first - it’s there to catch the ice cream soup!

Iced matcha latte ($4.90)
Obanyaki ($2.90)

🍴As a fan of anything matcha, been wanting to try this speciality Japanese store for awhile now but maybe I had too high expectations as I left feeling pretty meh. It wasn’t bad but not anything particularly great to shout about 😅, probably because I prefer stronger & richer flavours like the likes of matchaya/ hvala. Their #matchalatte was smooth and creamy and we liked that it wasn’t sweet but would have preferred a slightly stronger matcha. The #matchaobanyaki had a good proportion of soft red bean (loved the filling!) and was served warm. However, we personally found the matcha dough to be a bit dry and dense. Despite the seemingly small size, it’s quite filling and would say it’s not too pricey given the generous amount of red beans. They currently have a set of 1 drink & any 1 obanyaki for $6.90 ☺️.
