The Singapore-exclusive is a twist to the classic recipe by adding the local flavour of pandan leaf infusion.
This is a must-get, especially for overseas friends a short-trip away.

I chose Teh this time. Asked for siu siu dai but was ignored. I watched the auntie drop a full teaspoon of condensed milk inside my cup and my heart sank. I could only drink 2 mouthfuls before I gave up. The French toast was dipped in egg and pan fried, and there was cheese inside. A dollop of kaya on the side. Not used to it but the taste grew on me after a while. Eggs were ok.

On a side note, I came back for their nasi lemak a few hrs later and I didn’t like it. The fried chicken leg was stale and hard. Very obviously not freshly fried. I guess it was re-fried, cos the bone was brittle and the whole leg kinda fell apart. Rice was hard and tasted strange.

Before leaving Singapore, it is a must to satisfy all cravings for local delights. I must say that the 1983 branch @ Marina Bay has better quality and taste in their dishes.

At this 1983 @ T2, the mee siam gravy was delightfully spicy but flavor was not rich enough. The texture of chwee kueh was just nice, not too hard. But the chai poh was really disappointing. Weird that the chwee kueh was served hot with slightly cold chai poh. 😰 Haha I don't dare to speculate what happened there.

Dining here in December reminds me of Jay Chou's song:  1983年小巷12月晴朗 夜的第七章...

Glad to see many more outlets of the Crave's nasi lemak. I usually go with the the royale set. But I found that this particular outlet hmmm didn't quite meet my expectation (the rice is a tad dry). My friend said it's hard to ensure same quality across all outlets. Hmmmm perhaps so. But the plus point here is an overly friendly cleaning auntie who had 101 questions about why I don't eat peanuts (doctor's orders) and why I don't finish my drink (not my choice of drink I wanted a cup of coffee but they don't serve it here) 😋

🦐🍜I fell in love with their Signature Trio Shrimp Ramen which consists of homemade ebiko prawn paste, succulent prawn dumplings that is wrapped in this silky smooth skin, fresh big prawns and a delicious shrimp broth.👍🏻
.
🥰To complete your meal, they also offer a selection of appetisers such as chilled Silken tofu with century egg, braised beancurd in tonkotsu broth. Pork ribs and many more. Before catching your flight, why not head down to fill your hungry bellies.
