I would not proclaim this is the best chicken rice, it's probably not. But there is just an unexplainable down to earth sincerity in the way dishes are whipped up at this stall helmed by a relatively young couple. The way the lady boss wipes off the excess sauce from the brim of the plates, her helpfulness in pouring the chili, ginger and soy sauces; and the super generous large bowl of peanut pork rib soup which taste just like the ones cooked at home. The easy comfort heartwarming feeling just set us coming back more often than we would expect ourselves.

Really inspiring to find hawkers that carries on our food heritage with so much pride and passion. This is how I feel about the lady boss at this Chicken Rice stall tucked away in the same coffee shop famous for their roti prata. It's my second time patronizing and was greeted by the same spirited smile and politeness asking for my order. Whilst Hainan Chicken is the main feature of the stall, the few (seeming regular) patrons before me were ordering much more than that - "Siu Yoke 燒肉, Char Siew 叉燒, braised egg 滷蛋, the list runs on. The lady boss explains each of her recommendations in a pleasant way and I can see why she is so convincing. Whilst the customer before me was busy with bringing her first tray of dishes to her table, the sweet lady boss was helping her with the chili sauce, blended ginger and dark soy sauce each condiment delicately poured into the saucers. She then scopes a gigantic bowl of complimentary soup (ground nut broiled broth) and painstakingly wipes the spilled over sauce from the perimeter of each of the dishes in the most perfect way possible. Whilst they may not serve the best chicken rice, don't get be wrong it is very good, I am certainly more impressed with their clear demonstration of "professionalism in everything we do" - a much desirable trait which our heritage food entrepreneurs ought to embrace and bring that halo to our otherwise no less impressive food culture. Only then can way we can speak of ourselves to be of equivalence in terms of the spirit of 食神 you would recognize in the ramen 店长 in Japan, the roast meat sifu in HK, and 古早味 lor-bak png 師傅 in Taiwan.

Lunch with Tee Tony at a newly set up business Oct 2013 by Kelvin Oh and his wife Dynn. This Hainanese Chicken is moist, tender and succulent. Some parts has a little blood redness which is Ok. Their roast chicken is also juicy and texture is nice. Rice is fragrant. Black sauce is good quality type. Nice minced ginger, and the chili is potent. The chili can improve to make it a little less spicy but with a little more acidity. Overall, this Hainanese Chicken Rice is considered above average and rank amongst the top few in Sin Ming Area.
