People’s Park Food Centre finally reopened after months of renovation, and glad to see most of the stalls here remain the same.

That’s including this popular stall serving Chinese style of noodles and it always attracts queue during lunch time.

Their Szechuan cold noodle seems simple but you would definitely love the taste, as you mixing all ingredients together.

Recommends to go with their mala beancurd as well. One of the interesting salty beancurd that you can find from this stall.

There is no meat, innards or seafood in this plate and whilst it might seem unassuming at first glance, with just handmade noodles on a soy sauce-sesame oil-black vinegar mixture, chilli oil, bean sprouts, coriander and fried peanuts, when mixed together it creates an explosion of flavours and texture. Especially with our erratic weather, having a bowl of cold noodles is always welcomed anytime of the day.

Here’s another one of the stalls in Chinatown that I’ve been really enjoying, They sell a bunch of other noodles too like suan la fen and beef noodles, and though this one seems much simpler in comparison, I love the very addictive and appetising punch in the sauce. It’s vinegary, spicy, savoury and a tad bit sweet and numbing. Just peanuts, beansprouts and coriander as toppings, but so good. Gonna be trying their suan la fen next!

The Szechuan Cold Noodles ($3.50) from 四川名小吃 (#01-1044) at People’s Park Complex Food Centre is fairly simple - it comprises of cold noodles tossed in a soy sauce/sesame oil-based sauce, fried chilli, bean sprouts and peanuts. I like that it is fragrant, spicy (can adjust the amount of fried chilli according to your preference) and refreshing. As the sauce has a slight sweet undertone, it helps to balance one’s palate when paired with spicy dishes such as 麻辣烫 and 麻辣香锅.

Ordered this from 四川名小吃. It’s quite tasty but I still prefer the cold noodles (凉面)from the same stall that I’ve forgotten to take a picture of. 🤦🏻‍♀️
