I looooove handmade noodles (or any kind of noodles actually) and this bowl of ban mian ($4) is comfort. Not really your typical ban mian cause it comes with braised mushroom. Soup is sweet but I prefer the dry one actually. I can't decide between ban mian and their mee hoon kueh (wish I could stomach both). But mhk is hand torn so +10 points.

The mhk pieces were hand torn, quite qq and chewy, pretty yummy! They also give sliced mushrooms and for veg they use dabaicai, which is quite unusual. I’ve never seen it in other mhk stalls before - most use mani cai (to be authentic), spinach, or xiaobaicai. The soup was light but had a very nice natural sweetness that was probably bc of the dabaicai, and maybe corn in the stock? Wouldn’t mind coming back for this if I’m in the area, but I’m not an eastie and I don’t think I’ll travel for it, their outlets are in Bedok & Tampines. Would definitely frequent it if they ever opened an outlet in the west tho :)

Ate this three days in a row and bragged about this to my husband till he has to eat it with me. This is so good. You might need to wait for a while before they take or complete your orders and the reason is because they made the cook the prepare the noodles on the spot. Also, I don’t feel like they used MSG because it’s not overwhelmingly salty or dehydrating after you had this. I tried the version with the soup and I like both. Will come back for more.

Love the broth which taste so homely, unlike the bigger chain stalls selling this craft. Fresh ingredients, al dente hand-torn mee hoon kueh, quick service - all adds up to a perfect bowl of handmade mee Hoon kueh. Perfect to end off Monday blues.
