We did not have any reservation but seats were not a problem on a Wednesday night. We made sure to check with a waitress if we could use Burple Beyond but she did not seem to know. Luckily another (senior?) staff confirmed, avoiding an awkward moment for us. I was a bit disappointed to know the deal was only applied to 4+U premium beer, not for other beer and draft ones.
We ordered an Aurora pasta ($20.00++) and a Cheeky Beef with fries ($22.00++) plus two pints of beer. Our order was served fairly quickly. The food was on average. The pasta was generous with prawns and so much sauce that it was thick and cheesy. The beef portion felt small or may be because it was put in a small oval plate (???). Nearly half of the beef was fatty and the lean part was dry and had sporadic crust.
The beer was exceptionally fresh and thirst quenching. I finished mine and half of my girlfriend’s pint.
When we asked for the bill, the cashier said we only ordered one beer so we couldn’t enjoy the deal. Again luckily a staff pointed out that we ordered two.
Total damage: Cheeky beef ($22.00), Aurora pasta ($20.00, discounted), 2 beer ($12.00 each, one is discounted), plus GST+SC, about $40.00.
It’s okie with 1-for-1 deal.

Cafe-hopping around Tiong Bahru? Put this one nestled along Kim Tian Road on your list. If you're feeling pasta, order the Arora Prawn ($18) – think linguine in a zesty, creamy tomato sauce mixed with fresh prawns and red peppers. Burppler Sean Chen recommends the Breakfast Smoked Salmon ($9.80), which comes with a soft and fluffy croissant, two poached eggs smothered in hollaindaise sauce and savoury smoked salmon. Plus points for excellent ambience and service here!

Pesto Fries ($8.50)

Their fries are awesome! Thick shoestring potato fries that are more salty than most fries out there, making it extremely tasty. To top it off, it is accompanied with an awesome homemade pesto cream sauce that goes really well with the fries.

Dish name: Arora Prawn ($18)
This is one of the pasta dishes in this restaurant. They use linguine with cream, tomato sauce mixed with fresh prawns and red peppers.
The prawns are surprisingly fresh! The taste of the sauce is more sour than creamy but not too sour to the extend it is over-powering. The portion is just right.

One of the mains in this place and it’s signature dish: 4+U Duck Confit ($18)

Served with the drum part of the duck, spicy duck fat linguine and a simple salad side. The taste of the spicy linguine is normal and not super fantastic. The duck taste not too bad but it is a little tough and dry. It would be better if it is softer. The salad side is just a pile of vegetables without much dressing.

Overall, this is an average duck confit and not the best I have tried out there.

However, the atmosphere and the service is excellent. They can be rather busy during peak hours so give them a while to get to you. Otherwise, every staff is extremely friendly and ever ready to go the extra mile.

French bagel ($8.90) served with cream cheese, crispy bacon, mixed mesclun salad with deep-fried harshbrown. I found its too hard for me to chew but quite easily to cut into smaller pieces for bagel. Its quite full for me similar to subway concept even though I didn't order side dishes. They didn't include any GST 7% and service charge 10% but you need to take own water and also chili and tomato sauces from the condiment area. I felt sad that I missed pasta lunch weekday set promotion when they opened for business around April this year. But they got 1 for 1 mains weekday promotion for now and can ask your friends or colleagues for lunch.
