Who loves Yo ji mee sua, kee chiew, especially so for Uncle Daniel's bowl of traditional Yo Ji (kidney) Mee Sua! Those who stays around Hillcrest will know of his famous #BakChorMee but I tell you his mee sua is lagi better!

The soup recipe was inherited from his grandmother, heavenly and rich in black sesame oil! Thick slices of quickly blanched pig kidney and with a mix of pork liver. Within the soup, you find bits of lard, shallots and julienned ginger. Add $2.50 for some brandy or cognac to give the soup based and extra oomph!

I think this makes great #confinementfood too! Seriously, I don't mind travelling all the way from SengKang West just to eat it again! I would not go for other kidney mee sua unless I can find another one with a soup base better than Uncle Dan's! Pretty easy to locate, it is side by side #SozoEducation, a tuition centre, which is just right beside, run by Uncle Dan's better half.

A decent bowl of mee sua with loads of fried pork lard. Wouldn’t mind coming back again.

Grilled Chicken Thigh with Black pepper sauce ($9.9)
Decent portion, taste wise so-so but I quite enjoyed the fries 😋

Classic Beef Burger ($9.9) + cheddar ($1)
That homemade juicy beef patty was the main highlight of the day!
But don't bother adding the slice of cheese (oops)

Light but still flavourful broth with 2 thick slabs of chaushu. Great choice if you want some warm comfort food.

I usually order a restaurant’s signature dish to gauge if they are good. I saw a pic of this burger on the wall and started 🤤

I asked for well done, but the beef patty was still juicy. Bacon added another dimension of taste to the burger. I loved the vege tempura. Hubby met a JC friend and after chatting for a good 15 mins, the tempura was still crispy! So delicious with the beef, thou it was a tad oily. I really enjoyed the truffle fries. Freshly fried so they were hot. Lovely truffle aroma. For $17.50 (no GST no service charge), this dish was a steal. Pretty big portion. I couldn’t finish it.

This place looked like a posh kopitiam. No air con but not hot or stuffy. Fur-babies are welcomed, thou the outside tables looked a bit cramped. I’m definitely coming again!
