Looking for some vegetables to add on to my meal and gotten their sambal kang kong. Sadly it wasn’t spicy as expected but still delicious.

Their butter milk chicken was really tender and wasn’t too dry, definitely must pair with their sambal chilli.

A simple m dish originating from Malaysia of stir-fried vegetables, the brinjal, okra and long beans were flavourful and crunchy fit enough for a king. Difficult to resist as we found ourselves reaching it for more😋 Highly recommend this restaurant for affordable and generous Zichar, they offer delivery too!

Their Cereal Sotong is another must order! Can’t believe just two of us finished this huge portion but the buttery, milky notes made it really addictive!

We ordered their signature, the Fish Head Curry, served with generous portions of tau pok, and an assortment of vegetables. They do not skim on the size of the fish too. The curry is thick, fragrant and well balanced, very worth it for the price point 😋

For their Tze Char dishes, my favourites were the super appetising Curry Fish Head ($25) that went really well with rice, the flavourful Double-Cooked Pork ($10, $14, $18) and the Buttermilk Cheese Prawn ($20, $25, $30) that featured fresh prawns in a rich & creamy sauce! I had mixed feelings about the Chili Crab (1 crab for $30, 2 for $50) though; the crab was fresh and came with free mantous (fried buns) but personally found the sauce too sweet for my liking.

For Mala Xiang Guo, each 100g of ingredients (no matter meat, seafood or vegetables) is priced affordably at $1.99 with hotpot base at just $1. With a wide variety of fresh ingredients to choose from, this is easily one of the most value for money mala xiang guo you can get!

They are conveniently located at 236 Upper Thomson Road, within waking distance from Marymount Mrt Station.
