The 8-Colour Set ($98) from 8 Korean BBQ comes with pork belly in 8 different flavours (i.e. original, wine, ginseng, garlic, herb, curry, miso, red pepper), a stew of your choice and side dishes. The different flavours are not that distinct but nonetheless, the pork belly is quite delicious! The ratio of fat and meat is balanced, and the pork belly is slightly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. The tangy grilled kimchi helps keep the greasiness of the pork belly at bay. The Seafood Soft Tofu Stew (top up $6) is slightly spicy and pretty flavourful as well. Even without rice, this set is super filling for 3 pax!

PSA: There is 10% - 30% discount if your purchase a cash voucher on Chope:)

Additional order of meat here with their chicken thigh, I like that they will cut the meat into pieces for you to consume easier. It also comes with potato and enoki. $22++

For 1 to 2 pax, this set comes with 4 types of marinated sauce on your pork belly.

We got the wine, garlic, herb and kalbi, which was recommended by their staff.

They even will help you to prepare the meat, so you could enjoy your meal with their service.

The set also comes with refillable bean sprouts and kimchi. $58++

This place seems popular even though they are hiding in The Central, with full house when I came on public holiday dinner time.

They offer a few sets to choice from for their pork set, which included a kimchi stew.

Lots of vegetables inside with pork belly.

Delicious pork, their signatures 8 type of marinated pork allow us to experience the different taste of pork. Free flow of kimchi & beansprout. Highly recommended for pork bbq

While their 8 Colors Set is a little dear at $98++, you can rest assured that the pork being served is serious top shelf quality, as the pork is from the highly prized Hungarian Mangalitsa pigs. Those piggies are basically Hungary’s version of the famous Spanish Iberico pigs, and they are every bit as delicious.

The eight marinades slathered on the pork bellies are (from lightest flavored to heaviest), original, wine, honey ginger, curry, herb, miso, red pepper paste and kalbi. While the first three marinades were effectively there only in spirit, it allowed the superb natural flavors of the pork belly to really steal the show. The pork is fatty but utterly unctuous, and so so tremendously tender.

All the flavors taste exactly as expected, but the miso & kalbi marinated ones daintily danced away with my heart thanks their stellar flavors. There’s always a waitstaff who’ll patrol your general area and cook your meats for you. They’re pretty on the ball too, so all you gotta do is kick back and turn those Monday blues into a Monday boom.
