Who would have thought this would make a great combination. Crusty waffles with scrambled eggs and mushrooms, topped off with a dash of maple syrup.
A very hearty brunch with stir fried salmon, potatoes, poached egg and salad. Not the prettiest looking but choc full of protein.
Happy with my little cup of piccolo latte. Pity the place has since closed.
No fuss little cafe by day; bistro bar by night. 8 Stanley Street, the name didn't register clearly even as I entered this cafe, tucked away in the less conspicuous section of Stanley Street. What will definitely bring me back is their really robust cuppa. Double shot ristretto with a dollop of crema in my piccolo. It certainly has it's own signature taste and texture, it's personaggio (character).
Back at 8 Stanley Street to try out their mains. 8 Stanley Burger - Premium wagyu beef with rocket, cheddar cheese, french onion dip and tomato. Burger was acceptable, but fries might need some work.
A tangy lemony cake that is not too sweet as it has natural yogurt on the cake. The passion fruit fraiche atop added more flavour to the cake, but it was just a little too sour for me. Overall experience was still pleasant, and will come back for the mains on my next visit.
