Despite having this before in the past, I didn’t have much fond memories of it. Without the pork lard and greasy texture, it just doesn’t feel like a proper fried kway teow to me and even though I have requested mine to add chilli in it, it still tasted very sweet in my opinion. Plus the fact that the price for a small plate has increased from the previous $3 to now $4.20, it still didn’t wow me till today.

Seems like this is one of the must-try stalls at Golden Mile Food Centre. A rather different than usual char kway teow, with a bed of Chye sim covering the aromatic fried noodles. By the way, it’s also known as a healthier version as it’s not fried with any pork lard. In addition to the delightful wok hei although this one’s slightly oily, I love the extra crisp from the deep fried whitebait, as well as the plump fresh prawns! The only downside is the small portion, enough only if you are deciding to explore other stalls within the same food centre.

Ever seen a plate of char kway teow ($4/5) so green? 😂😂 Besides the amount of green veggie they gave (which I greatly appreciated), the char kway teow was so flavourful, with a good amount of wok hei. It came with 2 plump prawns and quite a handful of cockles. Probably one of the best plate of char kway teow I've had 😍

Sufficiently charred and aromatic. I'd called this a 'balanced' plate of kwayteow - with greens atop the protein (3x prawns), carbs and fats... The smallest serving goes at $4 (up from $3), a tad too small to fill the tummy but good in you've plans to go on a Golden Mile food excursion, conquering 2-3 meals in a single hawker hunt!

This comes with vegetables on top + ikan bilis which was crisp and light and salty! Ckt has wok hei and was very clean tasting.
