I’ve been kidding myself that I don’t run as it’s too hot when we have a perfectly good gym. I am really enjoying BBounce, a mixture of cardio and weights done on mini trampolines. Afterwards I needed a cool down, so had my old favourite Green and Lean with spirulina, spinach, chia pudding, almond butter, fruit and homemade muesli!

We have been graced with @impossible_foods and @beyondmeat, now offered in an every increasing variety of outlets. I had never been to @clubmeatballs before today, as as a vegetarian there wasn’t much (anything on offer) for me. Club Meatballs recently started selling a whole menu of meatless versions by @impossible_foods recreating some of their best known dishes without the meat. Today I decided to give them a try and boy, it’s as good as they say! I ate meat up until 3 years ago, and can honestly say I’ve not tasted anything so meat-like in those three years. It actually bleeds when you squeeze it (see my stories if you’re interested), gross but certainly realistic! Here’s to the future of vegetarianism!!

One thing I would like to say is that I often see people commenting on these meatless products asking why vegetarians want to emulate eating meat. I find it shocking that people don’t understand. I am a vegetarian due to ethical reasons, I want to reduce my effect on the planet and environment. I am also uncomfortable with animals suffering and dying purely for my consumption. But let’s be clear: I don’t dislike meat. Meat eaters seem to assume we all dislike the taste of meat. Some vegetarians maybe (and others who perhaps claim to hate it now but probably deep down would love a bacon butty!). I used to love a good steak, a duck pancake (my most missed meat), a British pork and leek sausage. I just CHOOSE not to eat them now. If I can have something therefore that emulates closely the taste and texture, without destroying the planet or killing an animal - amazing! Also, to those people who question why fake meats are even being produced - the hope is perhaps that more meat eaters will go vegetarian if they can have an alternative that tastes as good. It’s not rocket science to understand surely??

I haven’t been updating as I have been enjoying the time spent with them. The next few months are also crazy busy but I hope to get more in to a routine shortly as I start a new chapter!!! .
For their final evening before heading to the airport we popped in to Mo Bar at their hotel @mo_singapore as I had seen their ‘Mother or Dragons’ cocktail and had to have one! The flavour was sweet and fragrant but not insipid, made with delicious Strawberry Aloe Vera and Dragon Cachaça. .

I decided on a rather un-Balinese Banh Mi with tofu and a very Balinese Kombucha @banhmiandbeans. One of the highest rated eateries in Canggu according to @tripadvisor, they expertly prepare the best Vietnamese Street food with Sriracha sauce on the side 😋 washed down with an apple and beetroot Kombucha from @kombuchibrewingco.

He even has a cute white chocolate button tail 😻 As soon as I saw this posted on their Insta feed last week I messaged and said I NEEDED one and would drop by on Friday afternoon. I’ve been (sadly) looking forward to it all week!! They very kindly put one aside for me as I knew they would be sold out by the time I could make it. I was even later in the end too as I went to the wrong bakery 🤦‍♀️(I had convinced myself it was another well know and similarly named bakery...!!) and came two hours late. Annoyingly I’d walked past this bakery earlier on, but had become so convinced it was the other I didn’t go in. I had to backtrack and make a special trip, but it was worth it!! Seriously, this pastry is so delicious!! The pastry is lovely and flakey and the filling of milk ganache is just perfection! I love the ganache so much, it tasted like white chocolate! So delicious and creamy like a Milky bar yoghurt (weird analogy but if you’ve had one of those you’ll know what I mean) or like creamy condensed milk. Grab one quick before they disappear (you only have like 2 months lol)!
