Lunch today was a treat from a colleague who said "I very long time didn't treat you all". Ok. We know just be thankful. Just say thank you and don't question! 馃槀馃憤 He said want to try out Segar. He told us it's from the same folks from West Co'z Cafe. We said he has been only going to many halal places because their lunch group has more members now. Then we ask, so 'you now 'riday noon time busy' is it? He said no lah.... Another option for those who need to look for halal places for group office lunch. West Co'z is always so packed. Fish head not bad!

Sweet & Sour Fish There wasn't any fried wontons or youtiao (pity!) on the menu, so we went with the sweet & sour fish as side dish. It's got the usual chunks of onion, pineapple and bell peppers. The batter is crispy, and sauce is not too sweet. Since they do a really good rendition of my favourite dish, I officially approve of this place and have added it to my list of go-to places. 馃憤 . . . #burpple #segarrestaurant #segaratstar #starvista #buonavista #zichar #halalzichar #brightandairydiningspace #westsidemakan

Pineapple Fried Rice with prawn and chicken pieces It's expertly done, with the rice having a smoky aroma and no clumps. Good balance of spice and sweetness from the pineapple too. For drinks, we got lime juice and hot chocolate (for H, the hot chocolate enthusiast). It's just Milo actually, but better to go with trusty ol' Milo than something else which may not taste as good. . . . #burpple #segarrestaurant #segaratstar #starvista #buonavista #zichar #halalzichar #brightandairydiningspace #westsidemakan

Song Kee Fishball Noodle Most of the fish dumplings (her giao) I had are either tad too dry or small to my liking which contributed to my disappointment. I guess my disappointment had officially ceased ever since I had Song Kee fishball Noodles鈥 her giao馃槵 The her giao from them are plump with savoury filling and most importantly the texture is super slimy which attributes to the uniqueness of the dumpling馃構 #themodernlad

Fishball Noodle Considered one of the best, if not the best, fishball noodle in Singapore, raved by many, Song Kee serves super tasty Fishball Noodle. There are options for $4, $6, $8, greedy me of course ordered for the $8. I am glad the noodle portion is normal and not too big. Make sure you ask for the chili sauce with the noodle which makes a difference as the shrimp paste umami-ness game is strong. The $8 portion comes with three types of fishballs, fried tofu with fishball filing, her kiao (fish dumpling with minced meat filling - Chinese ravioli!). The her kiao was the star of the dish, soft and goey filing. So good, i even then bought the uncooked ones (80 cents per pc, min. 10 pcs) to bring home. Song Kee, I vow to return for more.

Fishball Noodles ($6) Wish I could change all the ingredients to just the fish dumplings and stuffed taupok! The fishballs were nice and bouncy, but I wasn鈥檛 too fond of the meatball. If you like it more vinegar-y, there is a bottle of black vinegar on every table, so splash away!
