Broun Cafe ( Lowercase ) We had 73 Signature Burger ( $17.80 ) and Somucheese burger ( $16.80 ). There is a 10% service charge for dining in but no GST. Ambience was really cozy and quiet. Value for money as portion is rather big.
Great Ambience, Average Food Dish: I ordered the Black Pepper Chicken Chop while my friend ordered the Truffle Shitake Linguine. There was nothing special about the chicken chop but the fries were great. The truffle shitake linguine was pretty decent. And I would point out that they were generous with the mushroom and the mushroom was really good. The mains were average at best. For dessert, we both got the tiramisu. It was more like tiramisu cake than actual tiramisu but still good cake. As quoted by my friend, it was better than her birthday cake. Value: Using the 1-for-1 main and dessert deal on burpple beyond, the meal was definitely value for money. But I would find it difficult to recommend dining at Lowercase without any discount. Final verdict: While the food we had wasn't particularly outstanding, the menu is extensive and I would try their more popular menu items like the egg bens the next time I return. All in all, it is a very nice environment to catch up with a friend or even do work, with free wifi and power points to charge your laptop.
LC Breakfast Platter Nothing better than brunch with great companions! Haven’t met up with my friends for a long time, partly ‘cause of COVID, but largely due to everyone’s clash in schedule #adulting so I was more than happy when we all could finally meet for brunch at a nice cafe like @lowercasesg ! The cherry on top was that @burpple Beyond 1-1 deals were available here, which made it all the more worthwhile to dine there as a big group (split into 2 tables, of course!)⁣⁣ ⁣ The place had a nice vibe to it, being spacious yet cosy, with some families having brunch, and students or adults working at a corner. I found their LC Breakfast Platter delectable, choosing scrambled eggs as my choice of eggs and was delightful to find they had added what seemed like paprika to spice it up! Their pancakes were soft and fluffy, and I drowned them in a sea of maple syrup, just how I like them to be. ⁣ ⁣ On a side note, what do you think is the best time for brunch? 11am or 1pm? My friends and I couldn’t seem to come to a conclusion. All answers are welcome! ✨

Egg Ben-n-Jamin, Chai Latte, Iced Latte On the eve of National Day, i get to enjoy the scenic view of Gardens by the Bay form the Kallang PCN we woke up at 6am to “explore”. Then had breakfast at one of the better brunch places in Singapore - enter Sarnies, before walking to Chinatown and have my Singaporean Kopi after a milky, cafe masala chai latte. This was not before stopping by this non descript chiffon and roll cake stall which had Dr Leslie Tay’s article displayed- at $1.80 per slice of chiffon I found this one of the softest chiffons I’ve had and was very pleased. At Chinatown complex food centre I had only space for desserts so the chendol that Our Grandfather Story featured we had to try. It was a good bowl of chendol at $2 considering how the slightly savoury pandan tadpole jellies are handmade. But my win for the day was Xin Xuan’s Min Chiang Kueh, I love pancakes so corollary, I love Chinese pancakes. The ones here are soft and delicious that it made me feel like they were everything I could have ever wanted. #HappyNationalDay I do love the country I live in✨
Eggs Benedict (with salmon) Super crowded on a weekend!! (Take note that they don’t serve lunch menu on weekends!!) enjoyed the eggs ben but sadly nothing much about it to rave about :”( got the matcha latte and it was pretty disappointing too (slightly diluted)!

Get the Salmon Carbonara!! The Miso Salmon Carbonara was super creamy and yummy, without being too surfeiting, topped with ikura!! There’s big pieces of salmon in the pasta as well. Would recommend 💯 The Ribeye was decent, not the best, but really worth it for the price! 🥩

Great Value And Ambience I had the lunar new year set menu (available from 20 Jan to 8 Feb) at $48++ per pax. 1st course - Lo Hei King Salmon Tartare (5/5) A modern rendition of the classic lo-hei with generous portions of pink juicy raw salmon, salmon roe and golden crackers. I dont eat raw food but this got five thumbs up from my husband. 2nd course - Braised USDA short rib linguine (3.5/5) The dish had oriental notes in my view. The beef tasted amazing though the pasta was nothing special. 3rd course - Great southern pinnacle Australian grass-fed sirloin (4/5) Beef was seasoned very well and the pea shoots at the side were sauteed perfectly. I didnt give this 5/5 because the XO butter was a little too much and covered the natural fragrance of the meat. Unfortunately I ate this a little late and the butter melted over most of my steak. Dessert - Pineapple tart (3/5) A deconstructed version of a pineapple tart albeit with coconut ice cream. I didnt think that the butter crumble or pineapple marmalade tasted great. Ironically I liked the coconut icecream the most in the dish.
