Weekday Lunch Buffet [$58/Pax Before Discounts] Had bread, butter and small cups of creamy pumpkin soups to start off our lunch buffet at Rise. The menu is now fully digital and orders are via their friendly staff. You can’t really control the portions since it’s a la carte now, but they were actually pretty well portioned out for us (4 pax) and look at their effort in presentation! We didn’t manage to try everything on the menu but our favourites were the soups and side dishes. We came a month ago when they were having the membership + weekdays promo which was very value! It was full house despite being a Monday, so please don’t be like us (we were on the waiting list and almost left before a table was finally available) and remember to make reservations beforehand!

For Waffles and Coffee near City Square Mall Come by this small, quaint cafe on Jalan Trus for good food and better service. Try their signature Waffle Platter (RM16.90) for crispy waffles served with a side of scrambled eggs, ham, sausage, baked beans, roasted potatoes and salad. Sweet tooths — be sure to get a taste of their Tiramisu Waffle (RM15) that sees cocoa and cream over fluffy waffles, silky caramel pudding, and vanilla ice cream drizzled with Irish Cream Espresso. Egg Slut I don't wish to use that word, but that's the name. It's a half-boiled egg in potato puree with mushrooms and cheese. Because it's finished with soy sauce, pepper and spring onions and toast, it must be a riff on traditional kopitiam breakfast.

Not The Usual Kind Of Breakfast An interesting combination of Eggslut,mushroom soup, garlic bread and carbonara. Located along the same stretch as by grace, this quaint cafe can be found on the 2nd level of a shophouse.

Matcha Milk Espresso Ice Cube This was unexpectedly good as well. Matcha had a robust and distinct flavour.

Acai Smoothie Bowl The acai has a really crunchy texture from the freshly blended berries. Something we found that was different from other acai bowls was the choice of pomegranates and buckthorn berry topping.

Matcha Milk Espresso Ice Cube (RM19) Served with a side of granola. The sweetness of matcha complemented the bitterness of espresso. But it’s a bit too sweet for my liking. Reckon the price is a bit steep for the drink too.

Nitrogen Ice Cream Oops, it’s priced equivalent to any other ice cream in Singapore - approx $4++ per scoop? Visual entertainment of watching the guys prepp your ice cream with liquid nitrogen, right before your eyes. The resulting ice cream is pretty rich in flavour, with crunchy cocoa bits for the chocolate flavoured ice cream.

Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream Rather small cafe in the area. The Ice-cream are made from liquid nitrogen. Plenty of teas served in the shop recommended for the Ice-cream that you have with. Had the Butterscotch and Brownie & cream ones. I like the over - flowing caramel syrup😆😆

Best Ice Cream Ever!!! Brownies and cream, chocolate and butterscotch at RM $10 per cup! Made using liquid nitrogen! Smooth, rich and flavorful ice cream! Super love the butterscotch flavor! Love it!

Love the vibes at @PulpByPPP! If you only have time for one cafe in KL, this is it.

Coffee To Go Singapore’s coffee house - CCSH has popped up across the causeway, but with a space that is both aesthetically pleasing, and smelling. Coffee beans are being roasted daily, and you’d be able to get the usual suspects - Throwback and Nuts and Bolts, available both as beans to go or in the hopper for your daily cuppa. They also have a range of filter brew and daily brew that you can choose from and we were pleasantly surprised and happy with our choices. Didn’t get a chance to get brunch, but it seems like a hit among the locals, and tourists alike based on the crowd we saw on a Sunday morning.

Rösti and coffee Rösti with chicken sausage and a cup of my standard dose of flat white. Coffee is good as always and rösti was decent.

Filter Brews — Fairy Lights V3 blend Hadn't been here as often as I should even though school used to be very close by — it's great to be back here to enjoy the serene and idyllic vibes and watching the baristas doing the hand brews here with love and passion for the craft. Always satisfied with my coffee here — the hand brews here are always a refreshing break away from the heavier espresso-based coffees brewed from machines. This cuppa carries a fruity, caramel-esque flavour profile, very clean-tasting yet aromatic being brewed from a blend of beans from Colombia and El Salvador; a sheer pleasure to have on a slow weekend morning.

Iced Latte Great place if you're looking for a quiet spot to get some reading done or just to chill.

Roasted Delights Made a visit to Yee Kee Specialist Roasted Duck with a few friends who have raved about their charsiew. Ordered three different meats to share; roast duck, charsiew and roasted pork, and while the roast duck and roast pork were decent, it was the charsiew that blew me away. Both the lean and fatty ones were good, though the lean one seemed a tad drier. However, the charsiew's charred exterior was deliciously sweet, and the fatty parts were chunky carrying loads of bite which is what makes it so good. The stall's last day of operations would be on 29th August 2015, so do head down for a taste of the charsiew before it is all lost.

Roast Duck And Meat If you view this before 29 August 2015 and like this stall roast meat then go try it for the last time. This traditionally roasted meat eatery will be gone as the elderly couple want to retire. Posted by Ah Leong San 2015 August 14

Earl Grey Lavender Softserve Stumbled upon this place in Holland village and really love the freshness of their softserve served with toppings honeycomb seasalt and gulamelaka mochi!!!

Gula Melaka Ice Cream Really light and nice, not too sweet :) Contains cornflakes below. Quite crowded so better to reserve before coming! If you don't need a lot of ice cream, better to share between 2!

earl gray & lavender signature waffles i decided to come here to try after seeing many reviews from my friends 😊 i really loved the honeycomb at the side which was sweet and complemented the ice cream waffles well! however, the earl gray & lavendar taste was not as intense as i would have preferred it to be and this is more for people looking for a lighter taste~ i recommend pistachio for a stronger taste (~$16.40)

Thai Iced Tea Mille Crepe A definite treat to the eye, you can slice through this beauty clean with a fork. Light and airy, the texture of this cake is spot on but its flavour demands more of the richness from the drink we love.

Tom Yam Pizza This is the most amazing Tom yam pizza I've ever tried and I would have happily ordered another if my stomach allowed me!! It's really crisp some what like chips with distinct Tom yam smell AND taste topped with succulent fresh prawns + heaps of cheese!!! I will definitely head back when I revisit bkk! 190 baht (excluding 10% service charge and 7% VAT)

Thai Iced Tea Mille Crepe The flavour of the iced tea barely came through. Rather disappointing, this one.

Last day of long weekend. Popped by Nylon for coffee and discovered this new ice cream place serving Gelato and waffles. Sadly, there's much to be improved on for the taste, and the icecream serving was too small.

Waffle With Vanilla And Guinness Chocolate Ice Cream Ice cream for the more health conscious but they don't compromise on the taste. Seriously Ice Cream is known for exotic, creative and unconventional ice cream flavours. Some were extremely appealing to us while some might not tickle your fancy but the experience of tasting the different flavours was nothing short of exciting. Pictured is their waffle with vanilla and Guinness chocolate artisanal homemade ice cream.

Red Velvet Cake Got this thanks to the Sugar App. Pretty small, but quite good. I like dense cakes, and this was definitely dense.
