Decent cuppa mocha, more milky and doesn't have that dark chocolate caffeinated taste that I would prefer. I tried their ice mocha on another visit and it had that same slightly more diluted milky taste. I did order the hot mocha again when I was at their Scotts Square branch and it was slightly better, but not as bitter/caffeinated that I would prefer.
This outlet has a nice ambience and if you get the sofa seat, it makes for a nice place to do work. But I would definitely go for other drinks if I'm feeling adventurous.
I've tried their ice chocolate before and it was good (I prefer darker, more chocolatey taste), but I was honestly mind blown by their ice mocha ($8.83)!! They use their home brand drinking chocolate and the added espresso gave it a very strong caffeine taste which balanced out the dark chocolate sweetness really nicely. They set the bar really high and so far The Providore ranks #1 on my go-to place if I'm craving a nice cuppa ice mocha. I went back to do work there just so I can order the same drink again!
The place can get pretty crowded so it's good to visit during off-peak hours. They have limited tables with charging spots but if you do get those tables, it makes for a nice place to do work, if you don't mind the neighbouring chatters. Serving staffs are really friendly and helpful too!
Came here for the fourth time and I ordered the Daikon Oroshi Soba ($12) once again. It was the only soba on the vegetarian menu that caught my eyes on my first visit and its taste got me hooked. I love how refreshing the sweet grated daikon and chewy handmade cold soba pairs with the savoury broth. The freshly grated wasabi provides an added flavour to the soup and I never get bored by this simple dish.
A Japanese lady brought me here for my first visit and I always see it frequented by many Japanese during lunch and dinner which means it is acceptable by their standards! Ate here with a friend and my bosses who are food connoisseurs and all of them thinks they serve good healthy handmade soba and would come back for more.
Do take note of the green colour legend at the corner of food items on their menu for vegetarian options!
Saw some reviews that this specific drink is nice and since I've been liking oats in my drink, I gave this a try despite having no one to share 1-for-1 😅 I ordered the medium cup, 25% sugar and less ice and it came up to be $5.30. This particular drink seems popular since the ladies in front of me in the queue ordered the same!
I like that they were generous with the oats topping (+$1). It was very chewy and went well with the refreshing and slightly sweet oolong milk tea. It's a change from the usual pearl topping and I've found a healthier, more chewy favourite topping 🙌🏻
