... best affogato in town. 8 bucks.
And Iâve heard theyâre opening another outlet. Brilliant.
Some folks think Anthony might be the best in the business when it comes to classic cocktails ($20+). He could be. And he remembers your favourite drinks. Whatâs lesser know is that he serves oden that simply works, and fresh fruit based mocktails that are proper.
I havenât found better, the tinge of cheese and the combination just works. Johnâs stubborn like heck (LOL), but his intensity and passion shows through in his food. I havenât found better pesto in years. Please let me know if you do.
(Pesto and crackers at $7.50. His curry osso bucco is very legit, ask him for recommendations on everything else)
Found myself stumbling into this place again. They have enough options to keep most coffee lovers happy. Iâll just stick to an iced black (prices are generally
Have they raised the prices? Yes
Is it better than before? Itâs the same
Does it still work? Hell yeah
Take the chicken cutlet, ask for their signature garlic sauce, whack two eggs on top for ~$8. Iâll suggest you order some liang teh from the stall a few doors down to balance this sinful but oh so reliable combination.
Grilled carabineros (prawns) laced with chili and garlic $69. Although the chili didnât stand out, the base texture and sweetness of the prawns did (had them sashimi-style at New Ubin Seafood as well). On-point execution here.
Solo night out = BB11 (Basic Burger) $23 topped with an extra egg and a well-executed chocolate milkshake. Thereâs not much more that can be said about this burger that hasnât already been written. Suffice to say the siren call of this beaut means Iâve eaten 14 burgers here in the last 6 months (the A5 special was killa). And I donât really like visiting places that often. My calorie monster.
Chef Angus explained he was using a different cut on the hotate to change the ĺŁć / textures and tastes on the tongue. It worked for me. Their $80 lunch sushi set (including 10 pieces of nigiri sushi) is excellent value. Not to mention the very lovely decor (which apparently cos a tidy sum) and differs from the sparse and clean lines found in the more traditional sushiyas in town. If you have a celebratory occasion, let them know in advance, and they might prep something for you!
Signature wagyu tomahawk $198 for a medium-sized portions. This unanimously passed the taste test for the beef lovers in the group. The other dishes were well-executed and good value (soups, bacon-wrapped scallops etc). A hidden find despite the lack of advertising (but so many tagged group photos on social!)
OTT combination, melt in your mouth goodness and bursting with umami. $50 for two on the specials
