For 1-for-1 Meat Dish (save ~$21) Round up the fam for a comforting meal of hot pot at this Tanjong Katong Road joint. Pick from the list of soup bases – from the addictively fiery Spicy Sichuan ($14) to the earthy Wild Mushrooms ($16). On meats, the US Black Angus Short Ribs ($22) comes recommended by the Burpple community, while the melt-in-your-mouth Sliced Pork Belly ($9) is another failproof choice. Overpriced Hot Pot The beef short ribs are nice but serving is small. I was taken aback when waitress tried to serve me a plate of stale beef short ribs (the beef had turned brown) when I used the 1 for 1 deal on the beef. She did replace it after I rejected it. And the liver that we ordered is not fresh as well. Colour looks off. Taste wrong too. Shelf life of liver is very short btw 1-2days. Don't like the fact this shop continue to serve food that is way past its shelf life. The 1 for 1 deal vouchers can only be used on limited dishes and the shop only allowed us to use 2 vouchers for 4 pax (2A & 2C). vouchers are not applicable on platters and buffet which makes the use of vouchers totally not worth it. The above photo showed everything ( + a can of green tea & a pot of chrysanthemum tea) we had ordered and the total bill is $104. Soup base costs $18. Regretted visiting and will not visit again. There are better hot pot restaurants that costs lesser.

Beef Short Ribs ($11++ With #burpplebeyond) This is now our regular hotpot haunt in the East due to it's authenticity and plentiful nearby parking. We always order the sichuan base which we find spicier than the chongqing beef pot. There's also the popular collagen soup base for non 🌶️ eaters. Recommend dishes are the beef Short Ribs (normal price $22++ for the portion pictured), beef skewers, beef stomach, dumpling platter, half shell scallops, fried bean curd rolls and fried pork (酥肉). The red grouper isn't fresh so skip that. 💡: 20% or higher eatigo will make it a better deal than beyond (sorry burrple! Gotta be realistic here).

Beautifully executed Vietnamese dishes Have been here multiple times and tried many different dishes. The mixed seafood noodles in my photo is chock full of fresh ingredients in a rich broth. Unlike many other places, they use meat peeled from freshly cooked crabs. I was quite surprised when I saw the kitchen staff painstakingly combing through a massive vat of cooked crabs. The dishes speak for themselves, with their fresh ingredients and delightful flavours. The grilled dishes are always perfectly cooked. A slight char gives the meat dishes a wonderful bite that accentuates their juiciness. The fried banana dessert with glutinous rice is an amazing mix of flavours and textures. The only misstep I've had here is the fish sauce ice cream with flan. I found the ice cream to be disappointingly bland, with the generic vanilla flavour overwhelming the usually pungent fish sauce that could only be vaguely tasted. Heartily recommend Red Sparrow to anyone with a craving for good food, Vietnamese or otherwise. It's slightly pricier than most would expect from a Vietnamese restaurant but every cent is worth it and more.

Generous Servings and Authentic Vietnamese Dishes Just one look at their menu will tell you you’ve found an authentic Vietnamese restaurant. Their menu is extensive - bring a group of friends so you can sample more of their menu or be prepared to revisit. Four of us took advantage of the 1-for-1 Burpple beyond. Since it was only myself and my three young kids at lunch, I couldn’t get too experimental with the food choice as I would’ve liked to. 2 x Pho Dac biet (mixed beef noodle soup) See picture WOW! Serving was more than generous! Loaded with beef, Tripe, beef balls. Would’ve been perfect if they balanced out the serving of protein to rice noodles a little better. I appreciated the good serving of fresh herbs on the side and the half brown and chilli sauce as well. Another hint to say these guys are the real deal. Soup tasted clean (not salty or MSG ridden) although I would prefer the soup to taste a little more robust. We also ordered the Bun Thit Nuong - cooked, dry rice vermicelli dish dressed with herbs, vege and shredded pickled carrot/radish and topped with sliced chargrilled pork. Fish sauce dressing on the side to mix in with your dish- so good. Lastly, we ordered the Thit Lon Nuong which was basically a main dish of the same chargrilled pork in the Bun Thit Nuong. Great with rice since my son doesn’t like noodles. Well balanced dish complete with cooked Asian greens, pickled shredded carrot/radish and two slices of traditional steamed egg meatloaf. Don’t forget the fish sauce for dipping! Service was great, ambience brought me back to Vietnam. Great deal with Burpple Beyond. Highly recommended!

Lemongrass Flan And Fish Sauce Ice Cream 14++? (complimentary With Facebook Review) Lemongrass Flan lacked lemongrass aroma, and they have taken the feedback very seriously so should be diff next time. Fish Sauce Ice Cream was interesting to say the least. Yes it's remniscent of Salted caramel, as they claimed, as the Fish Sauce wasnt too strong, but the bitterness at the back of the throat is still there. I was okay with it but my dining parter found it weird
