Located above Common Man Coffee Roasters, Grounded by CMCR occupies the leafy alfresco area of Yoga Movement's newest studio in Robertson Quay. Chill out in the relaxed space with coffee from CMCR and refuel with one of the many wholesome (but substantial) eats on the menu. Meals are guilt-free with options like the GF Redemption Bowl ($17), a vegetarian, grain-free combination of all things healthy like roasted veggies, nuts, seeds and a tahini drizzle; as well as the Balance Burger ($17), which is more like a brioche bun sandwich holding together folded organic eggs, streaky bacon, kale and a sriracha mayo. Worked super hard in yoga? Treat yourself to a Beetroot Chocolate Brownie ($8) after!

We went to Curious Palette today because Artichoke was closed for Raya holiday. Not too bad I must say! Good value for money, great ambience, somewhat creative menu and decently executed food. Scotch egg (in picture) was okay, not a huge standout for flavour. But their sweet potato fries omg. Crunchy, fluffy, salty and insanely addictive. SO GOOD!!! I would go back for just their fries. Order it!!! You won't regret it.

Another great business lunch setting or fabulous date night, the menu is mainly pastas or main dishes with extremely generous portion sizes. White table cloths, attentive wait staff, posh atmosphere and light jazz in the background (they don't cram tables together, thankfully). We started with the house bread basket which had a fabulous selection, followed by pasta for mains. The squid ink seafood pasta was housemade and had a firm bite, with generous services of seafood. Highly recommended for a lovely date night.

Izy does a good lunch set which includes appetisers and desserts, well suited for the business crowd. The $30++ Steak Don was melt-in-your-mouth tender and well seasoned, with a perfectly runny onsen egg. We finished off with a strawberry chilli sorbet with almond flakes and sweet cream, which was refreshing and light! The chili was very subtle and left a slight tingle on your tongue. The lunch set was a good sized, not too heavy to go back to work on. We sat at the bar and was impressed by exceptionally attentive service staff, not something you see often in Singapore. Thumbs up Izy!

Been meaning to try Artichoke since its been trending on Burple and I was not disappointed. This is one of the best eggs shakshuka I've had and I cook this dish regularly at home too. Tomato sauce was thick, rich, aromatic and well spiced with generous chunks of tender lamb shoulder. Topped with perfectly baked eggs with runny yolks and warm pita bread. I wanted to steal the recipe, it was that good!! Overall a standout menu and great ambience although slightly more pricey (~ $30 p/person), it's money well spent for the quality of food, generous portions, nice relaxed setting and good service. Good for brunch with friends. They also have large tables you can book for big groups too. Will return!

Delicious but massively overpriced and rather dead ambience for a Saturday night. Even the side dishes of sweet potato was $15 for 4 thin slices, seriously! Even with the entertainer 1-for-1 offer, I wouldn't go back. You'll get more value elsewhere for sure.

On the positives, one of those upcoming hipster style cafes, great setting, good coffee and very reasonably priced (~25 p/person). Negatives - having to order and pay at the counter. This is just very unsophisticated (come on guys, at least take orders at table!). Food was good but could be better; the signature scrambled eggs is so instagramable but wasn't as creamy or flavourful as it looks!! You only get the table for 90 mins due to long queue so can feel rushed if catching up with a group of friends. Overall experience was mixed.

Really juicy and succulent pork belly char siu. The gravy has a nice sweet and salty balance, although it is a tad oily probably because of the pork belly cut. We also ordered the Buddha jumping over the wall and the fried bean curd dish which was quite underwhelming. Inside restaurant was noisy due to minimal warehouse decor. Total cost was 20 per person. Next time will just take away char siu instead!
