(Rating: 5/5🌟) Undeniably the best matcha x hojicha ice cream you can get in KL and it costs less than 10 bucks for two generous and delicious scoops! You can find it at Tokyo Street of Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur 😉
(Rating: 3.5/5🌟) Super buttery & crumbly crust and rich milky (less eggy) custard was not bad. The crust wasn’t hard or overly greasy! I still prefer Foo Hing Puchong’s egg tart with flaky pastry & eggy custard. And that’s more like a Portuguese type tho
(Rating: 5/5🌟) One of the best portuguese egg tarts I’ve ever had. The combination buttery flaky puff pastry & creamy egg custard is just perfect! Best enjoyed when it’s hot and fresh from the oven 💯 Trust me, one is never enough 😂
A fan of sushi? What about sushi pizza? 🍕🍣 A base of deep fried rice topped with salmon sashimi, tuna, scallions, spicy mayo and tobikko (rm22) is simply to die for 🤤(Rating: 4.5/5🌟) I’ll definitely come back for it! The salted egg yolk pasta with smoked duck breast (rm30) was just so so. It’s too salty and creamy for my liking. (Rating: 2/5🌟)
It was my first time at Tray Cafe and we ordered Dutch baby pancake, french toast with berries and salted caramel banana cake with walnut crumbles. Dutch Baby Pancakes (rm19) which served with sunny side up, smoked salmon and avocado was just perfect! It was definitely more eggy than the usual pancakes but it’s baked in the cast iron pan, the middle of the pancake was soft and fluffy while the edges were crispy. Really yumm! (Rating: 4.5/5🌟)
The Banana Cake (rm10) was topped with luscious caramel frosting, a sweet and salty caramel sauce, crunchy walnuts! The salted caramel and banana combination were just meant to be! Sinfully good! (Rating: 3.5/5🌟)
Ummm the French Toast (rm20) was a complete disappoint. It was thick and tasteless. The berries were not sweet too :( (Rating: 1/5🌟)
(Rating: 3/5🌟) Toro Kaisen Don (rm88) which comes with four slices of otoro, uni (sea urchin) as well as generous amount of ikura (salmon roe) on a bowl of sushi rice. The sashimi was fresh and delicious. But the price was quite steep for me, given that the otoro sliced was thin and small cut.
Salmon & Tobikko Don (rm35). Thick salmon sashimi cuts and flying fish roe on a bed of sushi rice is just so comforting and satisfying! (Rating: 4/5🌟)
Barachirashi Don (rm28) Not the best Chirashi Don I’ve tired but still good. (Rating: 3.5/5🌟)
Salmon belly (rm48) It’s really fresh and literally melts in your mouth. Worth the price! (Rating: 5/5🌟)
Bara Chirashi Don (rm24) comes with miso soup. It’s a rice bowl with chopped tamago, fresh salmon, unagi, cucumber, crabmeat, avocado and quite a lot of different sashimi. Their rice is so soft and fluffy! It’s perfect for ladies who love fresh seafood goodness and less of the carbs. Overall (Rating: 4.5/5🌟)
The “Rio Bowl” (rm21.90 large size) is made up from blended açaí with fresh bananas, apple juice, strawberry, Açaí lab’s homemade granolas and honey. For me, I always go for peanut butter topping instead of honey! I know it’s difficult to find really good açaí bowl in KL, but of all the açaí bowls I’ve tried, nothing beats Açaí lab’s! Really recommended, must try 😉 (Rating: 4.5/5🌟)
