oreo milk ice cream + waffles $7 // i’m backkk at merely’s (and tbh, after studying + staying so close to this shop, i feel like i’m going to come back here *very* often and maybe soon i’d have reviewed every single flavor of theirs on my burpple account 😛😛) and well, their ice cream rly doesn’t disappoint! tried oreo milk today and it was great as well, strong oreo flavor in the ice cream, infused with generous chunks of oreo cookies and cream cheese/ cheesecake bits, which was a delight to my palate. paired it with their waffles today and i rly enjoyed it! the waffles are crispy on the edges but soft on the inside and it was the right level of sweetness. the rectangular size is also not too big so i guess you feel less guilty from consuming it XD

s’mores + valrhona chocolate ice cream $6.70 for double scoop with 1 premium flavor // sort of a hidden gem kind of place, located in the relatively quiet sunshine plaza. this place serves up rotating flavors which are all quite interesting, like lavender chocolate tea, caramel milk tea, milo fudge cake to name a few. today i decided to //(forgo my diet and give myself a midweek treat) //try the s’mores and valrhona chocolate and they taste exactly like how you’d imagine them to be, in the best version you could imagine!! enjoyed every bite of it :-)) only potential downside is that i’ve noticed their ice cream melts super fast, much faster than other ice cream places

Leicha 擂茶 ⚡️🍵 x Tieguanyin milk tea 🍼☕️ [$4/$5 for 3/4oz cup] . . . NEW flavours spotted at one of my all-time favourite ice cream parlour which never fails to disappoint and always coming up with unique & interesting flavours for my adventurous palate! ✨ As a fan of the Hakka 擂茶饭 aka. thunder tea rice, I was initially skeptical about having the vegetal earthy bowl of soup in a semi-solid frozen form but one bite was all it take to change my perception instantly. In fact, I was impressed and decided immediately that this has got to to be one of the flavours for my cup of 🍨. The roasted, smoky flavour along with a lingering subtle earthy and vegetal bitter undertone was a delight to my palate ; fans of Goma/Shirogoma would most probably fancy this flavour as well, with its prominent, aromatic roasted flavour. @tomspalettesg please please consider having this as a permanent flavour! 🙏🏻🙏🏻 Another flavour which I had chosen is the Tieguanyin milk tea, which is actually Monday’s special flavour but the portion left seems to differ otherwise, with only a meagre amount left in the whole tub. Love how the tea flavour is distinct here, with a lingering aroma that overwhelms its milky partner in crime. If you are one who prefers having milk tea which is less milky (like me🤭), this flavour is the definitely one for you! 👍🏻 . . [PS: Heard that there is Pipagao flavour on Wednesday which I am certainly keen to try after a positive experience with Wobbee’s pipagao milk tea 😋. Any pipagao fans here? 🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♂️] . . . . #burpple #tomspalette #sgfoodie

4 Oz Cup ($5, 2 Flavours) Can’t emphasise enough how much I love Tom’s Palette’s innovative flavours. They have the coolest flavours like parmesan cheese and cream crackers (tastes more like cream cheese though), salted egg yolk (100% like the salted egg yolk in a mooncake) and other flavours that weren’t available when I went but sound very interesting, like white chocolate nori, and chee cheong fan. I went for the following flavours: chocolate stout (alcoholic), yuzu, chai, and mocha macnut. My favourites were the chocolate stout and chai. The chocolate stout flavour tastes so alike to Royce’s alcoholic nama chocolates- the chocolate flavour is so rich and there’s a tinge of the stout which adds a bit of bitterness. There also isn’t an overwhelming alcoholic kick, so even if you don’t drink, it’s still very enjoyable. The chai flavour is really strong tasting, with a real spicy kick from the masala at the end. The yuzu flavour was not bad and tasted like a slightly creamy yuzu, although I felt that I could have been more sour, but that’s my personal preference. The mocha macnut was the least remarkable for me, but it had a decent coffee taste. Apart from the funky flavours, the texture of the ice cream was also great- not icy and not overly creamy too. Totally gonna use up all my #burpplebeyond deals here. Plus, the location is quite convenient as it’s located in Shaw Towers, which is just a short walk from Esplanade mrt. I highly recommend the chocolate stout flavour!! Also, they have new flavours coming out all the time, so I’m definitely going to pay a visit soon to try their kueh bangit and kueh dadar flavours that they’ve developed for National Day.

👉Truffle Sidewinder Fries👈 With homemade garlic mayo and grated parmesan 。 Established by two “green ducklings” who were previously culinary students from @temasekpoly, @thegreenducklings is a homely bakery café where many of the items sold are made fresh daily. The Green Ducklings 23 Dec’18, Sun☁️ 📍The Green Ducklings - Fried Carrot Cake with Nacho Cheese🧀 - Unagi Sandwich🥪 - Flat White☕️ Fried carrot cake with nacho cheese (and shallot) is something different and didn’t expect it to go well, not bad for a try, but suggest to share as it may go jelak at the end (greasy & cheesy). Unagi sandwich is a miss in my opinion, it really depends, the bones wasn’t soft to the extent where I can consciously but still swallow them down my throat with the bread...the potato were nice though, I mean, potato can’t really fail right...=X The flat white is along medium bodied coffee, not bad... Think come once is enough... Bonus: Cafe filled with pastel / Tiffany blue colour, quite instagrammable... Damage: $18.80

Yummy set lunch, very worth it Crowded when I visited on Sat for lunch, it would be advisable to place reservation in advance. Nice dumplings with three choices of noodles and complimentary ramen eggs. Had the original and smoked duck and we still prefer the original. Worth it with 1 for 1 Beyond.

Great Noodles And Dumplings At A Great Price Point! Got this with the burpple 1–1 and so worth it. Miso mushroom noodles was chewy, full or flavour and so wholesome. Loved the original dumplings! Similar to what you would get in Korea 😜

Value for money lunch set Dumpling Darlings dishes out QQ noodles with unusual dumplings and drink lunch sets for an affordable $16++ (even better with Burpple Beyond yo). Opted for the miso mushroom noodles + fried pierogi + longan osmanthus pu-erh. The miso mushroom noodles taste like the atas version of noodles you’d find at a coffeeshop, with a massive heap of fried onions and spring onions with every bite. Enjoyed the noodles’ springiness, but the rest really depends on how much you like the toppings. Fried pierogi stole the show with the savoury goodness of smooth truffle potato and bacon, while the drink grew on me with each sip. Saw them smashing up an actual piece of osmanthus jelly during drink prep! * Come before 11.45am latest to snag a seat before the queue gets crazy. Was a cosy place despite the crowd and chatter. * Tried my friend’s Sichuan dumpling and found it underwhelming. The sauce looked like chilli vinaigrette but was sweet, and drowned the taste of the meat.

Soyo Japanese The Soyo Japanese is a Japanese inspired Hotdog Bun and fared better in my opinion, with spicy mayo, soy glaze, sweet onions and nori blanketing the Kurobuta Pork Sausage which was a lot more juicy and flavourful than its spiced chicken sausage counterpart. Pretty pricey for a bun, but made more affordable with Burpple 1 - 1!⁣

Torched Cheese Got the Torched Cheese Hotdog Bun, in which I could choose between Kurobuta pork sausage or spiced chicken sausage, I opt for the latter since im not a fan of pork. Topped with shiitake mushrooms, soy glaze and drizzled in triple cheese, the chicken sausage is tender and sandwiched between buns that are buttered and toasted to a slight crisp. It could get a bit dry after a couple of mouthful and I personally felt that this was not worth the price tag. Because of Burpple 1 - 1, I got the combo set and chose the Fresh Parsley Garlic Fries to go with it but it turned out to be a disappointment as there was barely any hint of garlic, and tasted just like any other normal fries out there.⁣

Hafu Chili Fries (4/5 ⭐) Hafu chilli fries ($5) The fries is good but not special, it's not that crispy but more to the soft side. The sauce is a hit like bolognaise + mayo and cheese, it's good but as expected the sauce only on top so when the top layer is gone we only have the normal fries. Great food and great service! The waitress are so nice and patient with us. Overall the food is great but the sauce might not to everyone's taste.
