I love cocktails, especially cute ones. The drinks menu at Kinou is really extensive and ranges from signatures to old fashioneds to dessert cocktail.
Iโm seriously very impressed!
$: 20-26
You get a wide variety of fusion food from Tuna, Strawberry and Maple Syrup โdessertโ ceviche to duck tartare.
Very interesting concept by a french chef. ๐
$: 20-22 per plate
I love my crab, and eggs... and carbs, geddit?
But sometimes you get bored of bacon and smoked salmon...
This crab cake benedictโs here to save the day! ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฅช
$22
Spinach, your choice of eggs, cous cous, falafel, grilled eggplant, hummus and halloumi cheese.... all for $15? What a steal!
I really love med cuisine and their grilled meats, but I ainโt gonna complain when this came meat-less. Every aspect was spot on
Unassuming plate of โhamโ... thatโs what it looked like. Undoubtedly one of the best ham iโve had in town, made of duck. Fragrance was overpowering (in a good way), tasted like a crossover of aged iberico jamon X roast duck ๐คค
$: i think itโs around 16
Tasting notes of black garlic, kaffir leaves, lime, chive oil etc. Miso ice cream lightens up the texture, black garlic paste adds in a little tang.
This tartare was absolutely phenomenal, giving a different oomph and mouthfeel when paired with the various sauces on the plate.
My friend described it as โhaving the starter, main course and dessert all at onceโ.
$: 55++ for Grande Lunch
You get to choose your ideal fish, sea bass, cod, snapper etc. I tried the signature MALA base and wasnโt disappointed at all. My platter consisted of sesame oil-laden homemade noodles, lotus root, enoki and chinese cabbage. Itโs simple but super rich and satisfying. Fish was flakey, fresh and absorbed the intense flavours from the soup.
Good to share with 3-4 pax.
$: around $35/pax
I donโt even wanna talk about the price, but youโd imagine $20-30++ for brunch per mains @ Mandarin Gallery.
Made a reservation @ 10.30am along with 5 other friends for a bโday brunch. Our orders only arrived at 11.45am... and I was really excited to dig into my pastrami and crispy latki dish, a Jewish potato & onion crispy โrosti pancakeโ. Well, all I got were hard, stale pieces of pure disappointment. Theyโve probably been windowed for too long, not served warm and it was a total chore to finish the dish.
To make things worst, out group got โchased outโ by the staffs at 12.20pm, kept reminding us that they have a party of 11 to cater to and hope me understand... was it our fault that yโall took so long to serve us?!
Guess itโs safe to say that we didnโt quite enjoyed a quality Bโday brunch ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ
Overall, the bowl wasnโt as good as Iโd imagine, as the sauce was lacklustre and beef was a wee bit tough. At a $10 price point, itโs still worth a shot but once is enough haha (the queue tho).
A rustic-looking Japanese izakaya with Jim Beam highball and all the usual grubs, but with a twist.
Absolutely lovin the kushikatsu, deep-fried to perfection. Prices are decent for food in Clarke Quay, and itโs available till late (good for hangover supper). The only inconvenience would be paying $3/head for some white cabbage... a mandatory cover charge.
Apart from the not-so-crispy fries, the steak was cooked to a perfect medium (my desired doneness) and was extremely tender. Been there 4 times, really enjoyed the service and food over there.
Tucked away in International Plaza, KAN SUSHIโs helmed by handsome Chef Kan, who provides impeccable service alongside his team. He made every sushi according to his guestsโ eating pace and explains each sushi, a lot like an omakase experience. Prices are decent and foodโs very authentic.
Aburi Engawa (flounder fin) was my fav, nikiri sauce complemented it very well. I also recommend trying the Nama Kaki Ponzu (japanese oyster), $9/pc. Iโve never tasted such a huge, juicy oyster in Singapore. It almost brought me back to Japan.
$: around $70-80/pax for a good sushi experience
