[1/3 course of their lunch set] First bite to the last, this Crab Meat Grapefruit Salad whet the appetite with briney sweetness of crabmeat and citrusy pulps of grapefruit.
In a good way. It’s not easy to find a cocktail I enjoy, don’t like the ones that are cloying sweet or abrasive spicy. I prefer my drinks refreshing, sour with mild sweetness. This High Low Brow was a pleasant discovery. More sour than sweet, some bubbles making each sip happy, the perfect drink to start the evening.
Love that I can still taste the earthy roasted dark cocoa-ness of the coffee with the sweet creamy milk.
A good buttery croissant, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, is for me always a delightful indulgent treat.
On first 3 bites, the chili oil and tomato jam gave it a pleasant “oh interesting”. Then it plateaued. While the ingredients were all plated nicely together, they felt separate. They didn’t integrate harmoniously, some texture and flavors overwhelmed the rest. Individually, the ingredients were nice but mellow. I kinda expected the flavor of the crab to be more prominent, the tomato jam stole the role though.
Overall, it’s not a bad dish, just lacked an oomph. Or maybe it just me 🤷🏻‍♀️
We enjoyed this Charcoal Steak served with potato salad, asparagus and what I think is avocado puree sauce. Steak was served medium rare, a little chewy, but sliced thin so it’s enjoyable. This dinner was satisfying hearty yet felt clean and healthy, glad to have tried this through Burpple’s 1-for-1
Dragged myself to finish this Shack-cago Dog. The sausage.. pitiful shriveled sausage. If you like, you can recreate this at home. Just fry and re-fry a sausage a few times, stuff it into a bun with a leave of lettuce and tomato. Viola!
Am I the only who thinks KFC’s cheese fries look more appetizing than this? And it tastes as it looks
Fried mushroom was nice. But that’s the only nice part. Don’t get the hype, glad I didn’t Q for this
No filter, true color! Colorful, yummy and healthy! New addiction to beetroot hummus. Really enjoyed the crunchy carrots, beetroot and curry turmeric chicken combination. Broccoli could be crunchier though.
Their menu is decorated with photos of chicken leg cooked in various styles. So when I saw the noodles options without description and photos but almost similar cost to rice, I expected to be served something similar to the photos, except with noodles instead of rice. To my disappointment, unlike their rice options, instead of serving with chicken leg, the noodles is served with shredded chicken. While the taste is pleasant, $8.90 for shredded chicken is a bit overpriced.
Appreciate that the sauces were nice, but the size of the mussels made it a frustrating meal. Lots of efforts, very little satisfaction.
This Briny Umami Goodness had us polishing the plates. Generous chunks of lobster made the price tag more acceptable. Will come back for it!
