π½οΈ Salted Egg Chicken with Rice @ yummy kitchen $5
π Fried chicken bits in a decently aromatic salted egg sauce. The curry leaves, chilli and onion add a spicy kick and cuts through the creaminess of the sauce.
π³The fried egg is nicely fried with runny yolk for u to mix with the rice.π
π½οΈ Chicken Bryani @mamu.dapur $6.50
First of all, the serving is Huge! It is definitely good enough for 2 person. But the bryani is really too good to be sharedπ the stall owner even asked if the rice is enough.
π This is definitely one of the better dum bryani I've tasted as the rice itself is full of flavour. You can just eat it on its own. The bryani came with a Dal curry, correct me if I'm wrong though. I like that it's not overpowering the spice of the bryani. It is so mild that it actually compliments the bryani.
π The chicken thigh is well cooked in curry and the flavour sips into the meat.
As for the condiments at the side, the sweetness is super intense. I'm not sure what it is called too but it's is made from orange peel, dates, prunes and garlic if I'm not wrong. I'm serious about the intensity. I almost feel like I'm eating candy.
Please educate me what is the name of the super sweet condiment zif any one knows.
π½οΈ Mala Noodles @ Tian Tian Xiang Shang Spicy Mala Hotpot $10
Ok. I over orderedπ I've gotten quail eggs, beancurd skin, seaweed, cabbage, black fungus, enoki mushroom and instant noodles. You can see how big the bowl is compared to the utensils. It is definitely enough for 2-3pax.
πΆοΈ I ordered medium spicy level. I think their mala is not really spicy and I can't feel any numbness. It lacks the kick to it. Maybe not enough peppercorns? It sure have alot of dried chillies.
It is good enough to satisfy the craving but not exceptionally good to go all the way there. There are better mala places in the east.
π½οΈ Tom Yum fried rice @ Royal Kitchen Thai Cuisine $5.50
π The tom yum flavour blends well with the fried rice and the lime gives the dish an extra tanginess opens up your appetite.
π³ The gooey egg yolk from the fried egg adds a layer of creaminess to the sour packed fried rice.
π€ 3 considerably decent sized shrimp taste just like any other frozen shrimp, tasteless. But the flavourful rice compensates it and the bounciness of the shrimp adds another texture to the dish.
π½οΈ Chicken Katsu Curry with Omelette rice $8.90 @ekibensg
π The quality is there with the chicken katsu which is fried to crisp at the outside while keeping all the juice in the meat.
π³ I topped up $2 for the omelette rice instead plain rice and it is slightly underwhelming for me. The omelette is really thin and can't really taste the fragrance from the egg. It's my personal preference as I like my omelette THICCπ The mayo and ketchup comes with the omelette rice and it gives another taste profile to the dish when you mixed ketchup with curry.
π½οΈ Chicken Katsu Curry Rice @ekibensg $6.90
π The chicken katsu is fried to perfection. You can hear the crunch when you bite into it and the juice from the chicken just flows out. As for the curry, it a typical Japanese curry but with big chunks of carrots and potato. The ratio of curry to rice is just nice.
π½οΈ Sweet & Sour Fish Rice @ yummy kitchen $4.50
π The fish slices are nicely fried and goes well with Sweet & Sour sauce.
π³ The egg is fried to crispy sides and runny yolk.π
It's a "balanced" meal overall as you have your fruits(pineapple),vegetables(cucumber and capsicum) and protein(fish and egg). π
π½οΈ Hokkien Prawn Noodles @ Yummy Kitchen $4
π¦ A decent plate of fried Hokkien Prawn Noodle from a #tzechar stall. Just enough to satisfy the craving. Their chilli paste is nice and spicy. Their broth is nice and u can smell the fragrance from the egg. The ingredients includes egg, prawn, cuttlefish and bits of fried pork lard. It's missing the pork belly this time round though.
π½οΈ Garlic Fried Rice with Chicken Katsu @ekibensg $6.90
π The garlic fried rice is so aromatic. You can taste the garlic and bonito in it.
π The Chicken Katsu is crispy on the outside and tender and juicy inside. The teriyaki and mayo sauce compliments the already tasty Katsu.
π½οΈ Wild Olives' Grilled Pork Chop with herbs potato and coleslaw $5.80 + pumpkin soup $1
π The pork chop is tender and grilled to perfection with a little charred at the side. It comes with a mushroom sauce with slices of mushrooms in it.
π₯ There's a tanginess to the coleslaw which is refreshing.
π₯ The herb potato is a tad overpowering for me. The herb season is nice but it might be the worschester sauce that's a tad too sweet for me.
π΅ The spiced pumpkin soup is nice. The spice cuts through the creaminess of the soup.
Overall it's totally worth the price for the quality and quantity of the food. Just note that the queue is always long and you need at least 1hour of waiting time. Queue start forming 45mins before its opening.
π½οΈ Roast chicken Noodles with Wanton Soup @rongkeeroasteddelights $3.30
πThe roast chicken is roasted nicely. The meat is not juicy nor dry. The noodle is al dente. The way I like it. The soy sauce is slightly salty.
π΅ There are 3 wantons and they are decent.
Overall, it's a steal for the price for a proper meal π
