Situated in a relatively quiet suburb, Amano had a very relaxing atmosphere.

From entrance to table, I was treated very nicely by the staff. Kudos to their amazing hospitality. What we ordered was the:

- Carbonara
- Calamari
- Garlic bread

The creamless Carbonara was thick, rich and delicious, with portions that I don’t think anyone can complain about. I was full by the end of it and certainly satisfied by its taste.

The calamari was solid, enjoyed by both me and the missus. It was served with a delectable spicy sauce.

The garlic bread however, was surprisingly atrocious. Semi-burnt, bland, with nary a hint of garlic. It felt like just bread. There was an ominous sense of foreboding since it was the first thing we had but fortunately, the calamari and the pasta was great.

TLDR;
+ great pasta
+ great ambience
+ great staff,

- somehow the garlic bread was horrendous

Had the truffle burger. Pretty good hefty, 200g patty from the looks of it. Burger was loaded with Swiss cheese, mushrooms and a Mayo-truffle sauce.

Pretty worth the price with the 1 for 1. Pretty nice view to enjoy some drinks with as well

Pickles were whack though.

Note: 1 for 1 is not from burpple.

With the 1-for-1, it was definitely worth it since the burger was $32.

Without it, it’s a little pricey so keep that in mind. Price aside, I’d give the burger an 8.5/10

The meat was thick & juicy (200g), the buns could’ve been a little better but the meat and cheese made up for it. Pretty solid at medium rare.

It also comes with fries which is ancillary to a burger. Places that don’t serve fries with their burger should be penalised.

Goes without saying, medium rare burger = best burger

Looking forward to trying the pastas out.

There’s no need to complicate a simple dish and that’s why the Beast, in my opinion, serves the best chicken & waffles in town.

An egg, bourbon maple syrup and succulent fat chicken cutlet that goes oh so well with the waffles that they serve alongside it.

Made even better with the Burpple 1-for-1.

It’s worth a try.

We ordered the steak & the lamb and had a fairly good time. Steak was served at a perfect medium rare and the lamb was delicious. With the dinner set burpple premium promo we paid a total of around $60 for the two mains and a drink each.

Food and ambience was solid and the chefs cooking away at the fire added a little pizzaz.

Only complaint was that the portion for the steak was a little too small, an extra strip or two would’ve helped!

Final verdict: “you’ll see us again.”

Ordered the salmon & risotto with a craft stout. At 17.90 I think the black risotto was quite delicious and the portion was just nice. Salmon was cooked well.

Overall a great meal, would recommend. Hope to try the other dishes on another visit
