More of the fabulous food we had at @nakedfinn during lunch yesterday. This Chilled Somen in yuzu ponzu sauce was refreshingly delicious, perfect for the hot weather and when we wanted something light yet flavourful. Diced salmon and scallops were lightly seared and added to the house-made Ikura that popped with amazing taste of the sea. We also had their grilled baby squids and daily special Uni “scallop risotto” that were awesome. Our lunch ended with a refreshing Lychee pink grapefruit sorbet that had such great texture we could taste the meat of the fruits. Their home-made Chendol with coconut sorbet was the next-level from the usual ones, tasting wonderful without the jelakness.

I’m a big fan of prawn mee and this bowl of Hae Mee Tng by @nakedfinn was just a big indulgence. At a premium price, the bowl of prawn broth was dark and packed with intense, complex and rich seafood umami. Absolutely awesome flavours so good no drop of it was spared by the end of the meal. While there could be more of the sliced pork collar, the 3 huge and super fresh tiger prawns were totally delicious. Along with many other tasty seafood dishes, we have been drawn back here and know that we will come back again for more.

For a Treat-yourself Meal with the Crew Round up the gang for a splurge-worthy meal at Gillman Barracks. Must-tries include their comforting Hae Mee Tng ($25) where slices of pork and fresh prawns swim in a sweet broth. Also good is the Locally-farmed barramundi and the super popular Chilled Piquant Rice Vermicelli ($8) topped with a mountain of Sakura Ebi, both of which can also be found in their Dinner Menu (from $68). End the night on a high by hopping over to the bar next door, Nekkid, for a night cap or two. Photo by Burppler Vanessa Kou

<BEST> Beef Short Ribs Honestly I feel bad for using Burpple Beyond at times. Quality food, quality wine, quality service! I won’t use the pictures of the mains because theh were so kind to portion the mains into two for us! Started off with some complimentary bread and it is delicious, toasty and fragrant. Don’t get too full on this before the mains! We shared the [Linguine] Arrabiata-style Tomato-based linguine with a delectable fresh lobster tail. No frills, fresh ingredients made it good. [Manzo] Beef Short Ribs was the best and most tender I have ever had, I was holding back trying to steal the girlfriend’s portion. Ended off with [Costata] -pictured- sinful chocolate tart topped with vanilla gelato. Again, delicious! We also had a glass of Nero red wine each and it tasted of good quality as well. Guess what, this whole meal with 2 mains, 2 glasses of wine and 1 dessert only cost me less than $100 nett thanks to Burpple Beyond! Will return even without Beyond!

Great Pastas & Service I’ve been eyeing Burlamacco for many years and I finally got to try it - the pastas we chose were amazing. We had the Boston lobster linguine and the pork ragout pappardelle and both were superb. The lobster was really fresh and flavourful and the linguine was perfectly done in a rich, lightly spiced sauce. The pappardelle was done al dente and paired perfectly with the chunks of tender ragout. The servers were really sharp, as they asked if we were sharing both dishes and they served both dishes in two half portions on each of our plates so we could share, as pictured! Great service and I’ll definitely be back again.

Quality 👍 Quantity 👎 Tried their famous beef short ribs and lamb. Loved the ribs, one of the best I've tasted! Lamb was rather meh thou, should have ordered something else. Quality of food overall was good but the quantity was rather bad, not really filling considering we ordered both meat dishes at $46-$48 each

Worth The Price Tag? We went to Fong Sheng Hao with moderated expectations after reading other burpplers’ reviews. Ordered the pork, egg, cheese toast set with their signature milk tea ($9.60) and the Taiwan special pork patty set with a local kopi ($7.30). The toasts while tasty, were not that special. Drinks were average too. Our verdict: it’s pricey for the quality and quantity you get. There are other comparable options for kopi and snacks at more competitive prices.

Floss & Egg Set ($7.5) Taiwan's cafe which is famours for its charcoal grilled breakfast toast opened 1st outlet in Singapore! The best idea to avoid to queue is to have "breakfast" at 3pm. Not a big fan for pork so I came to the choice of floss. It's an amazing creation to mix savoury floss with sweet condensed milk, which gives me the balance on the palate and surprising fulfillment in my mind! They sell the toast itself as well (only the top slice) at the price of 3.9sgd per pack. U can also give it a try while queueing. Will come back for more!

Taiwan Special Pork Patty Sandwich + Local Hot Tea Set ($7.80) Tried the signature Taiwan Special Pork Patty Sandwich. We got the hot local tea so our set cost less than what it would be if you order the Taiwanese tea which is only available cold. The pork patty which is supposedly made fresh in-house, tastes like a cross between a Taiwanese sausage and luncheon meat - a little sweet, a little springy. It is stacked with a soft egg omelette, cheese between toasted slices of white bread. Not cheap for what it is but quite tasty.
