🎶We fell in love so unEGGpectedly~🎶 An EGGcellent choice for brunch at @walkingonsunshine.cafe is their Fried Eggs with Garlic Mushroom ($18.50)! 😍😍😍 While the colours may not be really enticing, this is perfect for those who dislike vegetables! 😉 . Featuring 2 perfectly executed sunny side-up eggs 🍳, earthy wild mushrooms 🍄 which are absolutely juicy, springy white enoki mushrooms 😋, topped with crushy macadamia bits 🥜, these would certainly add colours to the accompanying sourdough toast! 🥖 Really like the crusty exterior surface & the fluffy interior - bread lovers unite! 😎 . If you are a mushroom lover, this dish would be right up your alley! 💕

Great Place For Girls Hangout! This is a good place to hangout with your girlfriends over food! It have such a beautiful theme covered with flowers. Moving on to food, We’ve ordered salmon avocado bowl($13.50) , yangnyeom popcorn chicken ($10) & kimchi fries($10). The salmon avocado bowl taste great! The salmon is fresh, avocado is perfectly ripe and creamy, and the sauce on the rice goes well with everything. The price is also so worth it as the rest are mostly in their $18~$20s. Yangnyeom popcorn chicken & kimchi fries are from their bar bites section. We gotten the popcorn chicken in replace to the more expensive yangnyeom chicken in their main sections because that cost like $21! So I feel this so much more worth it to have a taste of the sauce. Well... it’s so worth it! But as for the kimchi fries I think there can be more flavor to it as the fries and the sauce doesn’t blend in well together. Nonetheless, I feel the bar bites are worth it as sharing platters as they have arrays of dishes.

Carbonara Al Funghi Set Lunch [$11.90] Saved this spot for a long time and just got to pop by to try! Went with the set lunch and it was very value for money. Apart from this carbonara, they have 4 others to choose from - Creamy Chicken ($9.90), Puttanesca ($9.90), Arrabiata ($11.90) and Ragu Ala Bolognese ($11.90). Each also comes with a refreshing cup of cold brew earl grey tea infused with lemon and rosemary, originally priced at $5.90. Tipo serves handmade pasta and you get to pick from 3 daily offerings upon order. I went with the squid ink mafalde. You also get to choose to top up parmesan cheese, chilli flakes and olive oil at no extra costs, unless you want an extra portion of any. I added the first two and enjoyed my plate. Would have just liked the mafalde a touch bit less soft, but the cheesy and creamy sauce coated each strand nicely. The chunky mushrooms came in a satisfying portion as well! Pasta upsize is at $3, and set lunches are available from 12pm to 4pm on weekdays, excluding PHs.

Delicious Fresh Pasta The noodles are are really done R I G H T! It wasn’t just about the unique flavours that the restaurant comes up with, but the perfect and I mean P E R F E C T al dente texture of the noodles. I would think that because of the constant rotation of pasta flavours, one would never get bored and always come back to try more! The sauce was pretty good too, obviously the noodles outshone the sauce in my opinion but still not too shabby! I ordered the beef ragu which was enjoyable, loved the generous and chunky beef. Also managed to try the truffle mushroom pasta which tasted SUPER truffle-y! I think it’ll be difficult to finish it on your own tbh so get a few pastas to share around with your friends!

Do you know the difference between a Jaffle and a Toastie? I guess a jaffle just has more Australian vibes in it🤣. Known for their specialty coffee, jaffles and dusty pink interiors, @amberembersg is a chic café located right in the middle of Serangoon and Kovan MRT stations. 。 👉Fowl Play - SGD15 roasted chicken thigh, ranch, mozzarella, pickled Japanese cucumber, parmigiano reggiano, salad with vinaigrette 👉Cheesus Loves You - SGD14 melted gruyere, emmental, mozzarella, caramelised onion, blue cheese, salad with vinaigrette 。 As a hardcore lover of cheese🧀, I took a liking to “Cheesus Loves You” immediately. Their winning combination of cheese was definitely worth a mention👍. But on the other hand, their “Fowl Play” jaffles was rather mediocre. 。 Check out their bio @amberembersg for pre-order and delivery🛵 link. For self pick-ups, you can enjoy a 20% off bill😄! John Lemon ($14) The buttermilk waffle was super crispy but I can’t exactly call it a waffle, it was almost like a softer version of a biscotti? It was not fluffy at all and pretty dry, so thank goodness for the ice cream which was weird bc it was cold with no vanilla bean flavour, but the combi was better than eating them separately. The thyme crumble and lemon curd w passion fruit purée were nice, but those were the only redeeming factors.

Fowl Play ($15) [Foreground] & Fun Guy ($14) [Background] These were decent, plus points for the cheese pull for both. But the bread was just white bread toasted till it was rather dry, which made it crispy but ended up tasted dehydrated. Fowl Play’s chicken wasn’t dry, and the ranch sauce wasn’t cloying! Pickle was extremely salty. I preferred Fun Guy. Their balsamic on rocket was good but the poached egg’s yolk was half runny half fully cooked :( Mushrooms (shiitake + shimeiji) were nice! I wouldn’t pay full price for these tho, and while the service staff were nice and attentive, the food took way too long to come.
