For my main, I had the ๐‚๐ซ๐จ๐ช๐ฎ๐ž ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐œ๐ž๐ฅ (๐’๐†๐ƒ$๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘++) - which basically consisted of 2 HUGE slices of sourdough, Bayonne ham, cheese, a fried egg, and some salad at the side! โ˜บ๏ธ Iโ€™ll rate this a 6/10 - while the portions were pretty generous (esp. the bread), I personally felt like the carb: fat/protein ratio was kinda off - wayyy too much carbs for my liking and I struggled finishing the bread though I love bread ๐Ÿ˜ฐ but the sourdough was really yummy ๐Ÿคค

In terms of the individual components, the Bayonne ham was good, but not outstanding; and I felt it was really salty when i had it without the bread ๐Ÿ˜… The fried egg was decent, but did not have the runny yolk I look for in a sunny side up! Salad was nothing special too heh. Hence, I feel this dish still has room for improvement - but nevertheless decent, though I wouldnโ€™t order it again - especially because it was $27 nett - really pricey!

Ialso tried the ๐Ž๐ง๐๐ž๐ก ๐Ž๐ง๐๐ž๐ก (๐’๐†๐ƒ$๐Ÿ.๐Ÿ–๐ŸŽ) and ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ญ ๐‡๐ข๐ญ๐š๐ฆ (๐’๐†๐ƒ$๐Ÿ.๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ), both of which were really interesting in their own ways - I rate them both 7-7.5/10! For the Ondeh Ondeh, I thought it could perhaps have more elements of coconut! And the filling was slightly too sweet towards the end (though I loved the Gula Melaka ๐Ÿคค). The Pulut Hitam was pretty decent too, but I guess I prefer the dessert itself because Iโ€™m not that big a fan of cream (though you can defo still taste the pulut hitam element in the doughnut) โ˜บ๏ธ

The other crowd favourite was ๐˜๐ฎ๐ณ๐ฎ (๐’๐†๐ƒ$๐Ÿ.๐Ÿ“๐ŸŽ), which I rate 9/10 too ๐Ÿ˜›๐Ÿคค It has a distinct yuzu taste, which was really refreshing in a donut! Even those who donโ€™t usually like yuzu really enjoyed this rendition of the flavour. Somehow, the yuzu helps to lighten the taste of the donut such that it doesnโ€™t feel too jelak even though donuts are usually considered pretty greasy stuff! ๐Ÿ˜‹ Another very well executed donut.

My favourite was no doubt the ๐Ž๐ซ๐ก ๐๐ž๐ž (๐’๐†๐ƒ$๐Ÿ.๐Ÿ“๐ŸŽ), which is featured on the cover pic!!! This is a solid 9/10 for me! JUST LOOK AT THAT ORH NEE FILLING ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿคค๐Ÿ˜ You could definitely taste the orh nee, and the filling was just the right level of sweetness, sweet enough for a donut, but not cloyingly sweet! Only downside was that eating the whole thing alone was abit too much HAHA cos its carbs on carbs ๐Ÿ˜‚ But the second time I shared this with my friends and family, and they all loved it ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ

Ordered the charcoal grilled whiskey ribeye and it was really tasty and worth the price, especially with the burpple 1 for 1 discount! We really liked mocktails as well - both the lychee & Apple fizz & yuzu ginger and grapefruit smash were really refreshing!! Truffle fries were great as well ๐Ÿคฉ however, the lamb was a bit tough and we had trouble chewing some parts.

Would recommend a visit here for the steak and perhaps the mocktails and truffle fries to share!

I went to Luna awhile back, but finally got around to reviewing the cakes!! We were lucky to get a seat in the little shop space after a 15-20 minute wait on a weekday afternoon. We tried 3 cakes, of which my favourite was the ๐˜๐ฎ๐ณ๐ฎ ๐‚๐ก๐ž๐ž๐ฌ๐ž๐œ๐š๐ค๐ž (๐’๐†๐ƒ$๐Ÿ–) - which I rate a 9.5/10!! ๐Ÿคค super unique flavour which is a HUGE plus for me, and also REALLY well executed - I could taste the lovely cream cheese with citrus notes, smell the yuzu fragrance and the cake was not too jelak nor cloyingly sweet too! ๐Ÿ˜› Only downside is how small the slice is but maybe im just greedy ๐Ÿคช๐Ÿท

Next, we also tried the highly-raved ๐Ž๐ซ๐ก ๐๐ž๐ž ๐‚๐š๐ค๐ž (๐’๐†๐ƒ$๐Ÿ–) - which Iโ€™ll rate a 7.5/10? While I generally enjoyed it and rly appreciated how pretty and AESTHETIC the cake is ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ, I felt that the rich and โ€œgaoโ€ texture (that I look for when it comes to orh nee) was lost in the cake.... and the flavour didnโ€™t come off strong enough for me ๐Ÿ˜… But maybe its just personal preference cos I know a lot of people love this cake!! It was no doubt v fluffy and i liked the yam bits in the cake too โ˜บ๏ธ

I also really liked the ๐‚๐ก๐จ๐œ๐จ๐ฅ๐š๐ญ๐ž ๐’๐ฉ๐ž๐œ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐จ๐จ๐ฌ ๐‚๐š๐ค๐ž (๐’๐†๐ƒ$๐Ÿ–)!! I rate this a 8.5/10 - I could really taste the spice in the Speculoos buttercream layer which i LOVED ๐Ÿคค๐Ÿ˜‹ The dark chocolate cake layers were also rich, yet not too heavy. Overall, a super enjoyable cake!

Iโ€™d return to Luna again soon, loved the ambience in the cafe and the cakes are rly SUPER yummy!! ๐Ÿคค I just wished the FOH staff was a bit more friendly and patient when greeting customers, did not experience the best customer service ๐Ÿ˜… lovely cakes though! โ˜บ๏ธ

So the previous time I reviewed Baristart, I didnโ€™t have an amazing experience, but I received so many comments from all of you to go back there and try the cream puffs... and so I DID!!!! and omg... NO REGRETS AT ALL ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ

We went there after lunch at about 1.30pm on a weekday, and we got the ๐‚๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ฆ ๐๐ฎ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ (๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐’๐†๐ƒ$๐Ÿ“.๐Ÿ“๐ŸŽ+, ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐’๐†๐ƒ$๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“+) for takeaway because there were no seats for dine-in.... And although we were just eating it at the doorstep of Baristart, it was truly AMAZING!!!

The cream was sweet, but not too sweet; and the puff pastry was really yummy as well ๐Ÿคค really craving another one right now ๐Ÿ˜‹ Can legit taste the Hokkaido milk, and I really LOVED the cream filling even though I am usually not a big fan of cream!! I feel the best part is that while the cream is rich and โ€˜gaoโ€™, it doesnt get too jelak which is really rare for super creamy stuff!

Omg ok honestly... donโ€™t even know how to describe it anymore but its really super good GO TRY IT ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคค YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!!! but yes maybe share it with someone if youโ€™re not a huge fan of cream cos its quite big! but if you love cream, then this is PERFECT for you ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ

If youโ€™re looking for a bowl of dry ramen in Singapore, then this HAS to be it!!!! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

I ordered the ๐“๐š๐ข๐ฐ๐š๐ง ๐Œ๐š๐ณ๐ž๐ฌ๐จ๐›๐š ๐๐š๐ ๐จ๐ฒ๐š ๐’๐ญ๐ฒ๐ฅ๐ž (๐’๐†๐ƒ$๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘.๐Ÿ–๐ŸŽ++), which was just so delightful ๐Ÿคค actually would eat it again anyday!!! an easy way to describe the texture would be like a bak chor mee, but japanese version (seasoning and all) but seriously, SUPER yummy!! โ˜บ๏ธ I really loved the balance of flavours in the bowl, as well as the components - minced meat, seaweed, spring onions, chives and an onsen egg ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ

Overall, I highly recommend this place!! Honestly loved everything about my ramen, other than the fact that it got a tad too salty towards the end (and I didnโ€™t like the soup... but maybe thats just bc personal preference) Only downside is that it is slightly pricey, but its standard ramen price I guess? ALSO there is free upsize for noodles for the carb lovers and free rice also ๐Ÿ˜› Will definitely be back to try their original mazesoba the next time round, which my friends really enjoyed and it is less salty, so it may be suitable for those with lighter tastebuds!

Went to @tiposg without a booking and we were super lucky to get a table without queuing ๐Ÿคช Anyway I really love the concept of this place - especially the FRESHLY MADE PASTA ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ

I opted for the ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐ฅ๐ ๐˜๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐Ž๐ฐ๐ง ๐๐š๐ฌ๐ญ๐š (๐’๐†๐ƒ$๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“.๐Ÿ—๐ŸŽ++) option even though they have a few signature pastas, and I enjoyed it ๐Ÿคค I chose the ๐‚๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข ๐‹๐ข๐ฆ๐ž ๐Œ๐š๐ฅ๐Ÿ๐š๐๐ž (๐’๐†๐ƒ$๐Ÿ—.๐Ÿ—๐ŸŽ), which was pretty good - except that the pasta was a little hard (mine was a little less done than al-dente!), so i wished it would be a tad more chewy!

I really enjoyed the ๐๐ข๐ง๐ค ๐’๐š๐ฎ๐œ๐ž, which was a blend of their alfredo and tomato sauces! Really loved the tangy taste from the tomato sauce, which balanced the creamy alfredo sauce ๐Ÿ˜› a super refreshing change!!

My other add-ins included the ๐๐š๐ซ๐ฆ๐ž๐ฌ๐š๐ง ๐‚๐ก๐ž๐ž๐ฌ๐ž, ๐’๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐•๐ข๐๐ž ๐„๐ ๐  (+๐’๐†๐ƒ$๐Ÿ) and ๐’๐ฆ๐จ๐ค๐ž๐ ๐ƒ๐ฎ๐œ๐ค ๐๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ฌ๐ญ (+๐’๐†๐ƒ$๐Ÿ’). The parmesan cheese and sous vide egg were q standard, but the egg rly complemented my pasta combination ๐Ÿ˜บ The smoked duck breast was interesting in a pasta and I enjoyed it, but my friendโ€™s duck breast was a little overcooked so it was a little dry... suppose it may a hit-or-miss! Would still order it again the next time round tho YUMZ ๐Ÿ˜‹

Would want to go back to Tipo to try more interesting combinations, and will recommend this place! ๐Ÿ˜› And I highly recommend their pink sauce and cream sauce, which I enjoy because it isnt too thiccc such that it gets jelak towards the end like many cream pastas! So glad I found this place ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ

I went to Populus for dinner on a weekday, and got the ๐’๐ž๐š๐Ÿ๐จ๐จ๐ ๐‹๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฎ๐ข๐ง๐ž (๐’๐†๐ƒ$๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”++), which is linguine in a homemade lobster bisque as the pasta sauce, accompanied with crabmeat and scallops! Overall, taste-wise this was a 9/10 for me - I really enjoyed it, other than the fact that the portion was HUGE for me (or maybe Iโ€™m just a small eater...) ๐Ÿคญ However, the lobster bisque was well-executed, could really taste the sweetness of the seafood!!! ๐Ÿคค And as you can see they were pretty generous w toppings too ๐Ÿคฉ However, I did feel that prices were pretty steep, as I paid close to $31 nett for a main in a cafe! But this was really good so I guess no regrets ordering it bc really quality ingredients ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ

I also got the ๐ˆ๐œ๐ž๐ ๐‚๐š๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ž ๐‹๐š๐ญ๐ญ๐ž (๐’๐†๐ƒ$๐Ÿ”.๐Ÿ“๐ŸŽ++) - and while Populus has coffee in their name, I felt it was just pretty avg like a 6/10! Definitely still enjoyed it, but not the smooth/silky/nutty taste notes that I prefer heh.
โ€จI would go back to Populus to try their brunch items, which actually look really good ๐Ÿ˜ And really, their seafood linguine is worth a try!!

While I am a huge fan of Matcha, I also really love the ๐๐ฅ๐š๐œ๐ค ๐’๐ž๐ฌ๐š๐ฆ๐ž ๐‚๐š๐ค๐ž (๐’๐†๐ƒ$๐Ÿ–.๐Ÿ–๐ŸŽ++) at Hvala - once again, Iโ€™m super picky about my black sesame desserts ๐Ÿคญ They are one of the hardest to perfect imo, and can be quite tasteless/bitter if not done well. Also... if they arenโ€™t made with pure black sesame paste, then itโ€™s a bit dodge la ok guys... and for me, I can definitely taste whether they are made with paste or powder!! But Hvala makes their cakes with paste so the aroma is STRONG and definitely present ๐Ÿ˜‹

Other items on the menu that Iโ€™ve tried include ๐‡๐จ๐ฃ๐ข๐œ๐ก๐š ๐๐ž๐ญ๐ข๐ญ ๐†๐š๐ญ๐ž๐š๐ฎ (๐’๐†๐ƒ$๐Ÿ–.๐Ÿ–๐ŸŽ++) and ๐Œ๐š๐ญ๐œ๐ก๐š-๐‡๐จ๐ฃ๐ข๐œ๐ก๐š ๐‹๐š๐ญ๐ญ๐ž (๐’๐†๐ƒ$๐Ÿ“.๐Ÿ–๐ŸŽ++)! Personally, I prefer matcha over hojicha, but its still an amazing cake nonetheless! On the other hand, I find the tea lattes a tad too sweet for my preference - so I probably wouldnโ€™t order it unless its for sharing!

If youโ€™re a Matcha / Hojicha / Black Sesame lover and you havenโ€™t tried Hvala - GO NOW!!!!

Some may feel that this place is overhyped, but those of you who know me would know how much I LOVE matcha/black sesame, so this cafe definitely is one of the top on my dessert list ๐Ÿคฉ Not only do they serve up some great desserts, they are also located in convenient locations (CHIJMES & 111 Somerset) and have great vibes as well!

One of my favourites is definitely the ๐Œ๐š๐ญ๐œ๐ก๐š ๐๐ž๐ญ๐ข๐ญ ๐†๐š๐ญ๐ž๐š๐ฎ (๐’๐†๐ƒ$๐Ÿ–.๐Ÿ–๐ŸŽ++), which is basically BURSTING with matcha in many different textures - glaze, mousse, sponge layer, and crumble ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคค However, I recommend this for sharing with someone else, as it can get quite โ€œgaoโ€ after awhile! But itโ€™s really one of the best matcha desserts Iโ€™ve had in Singapore (though it is admittedly expensive).
