Got the Afuri Spring Special Set off Shopee with almost a 50% discount. Was excited to try Afuri here after reminiscing on having Afuri back in Tokyo. I don’t fully remember what the Tokyo one tasted like, but I what I had tonight wasn’t an exact replica. I had their Shio signature ramen. The broth was pretty salty and had me grabbing for my tea, while the chashu wasn’t very tender. There was still that hint of Yuzu which brightened up the dish but other than that it was pretty average. Tbh I wouldn’t come back or pay full price for this bowl of ramen when there are better ones out there.

The set also came with deep fried gyozas which were surprisingly not bad.

🥢 Served in a light citrusy broth with a slice of grilled Pork, Seaweed, Bamboo Shoots, Mizuna Leaves and half an Ajitsuke Tamago

✍🏻 ★★★★★★★☆☆☆〘7/10〙

💬 It was my first time having a citrusy broth. My brain could not comprehend what I was slurping at that moment. It was appetising and a very refreshing change to the usual pork-y broths I am used to. The ramen noodles were cooked alright, as you would expect from a ramen chain. Unfortunately the grilled pork slice did not really leave an impression as it barely had a charred flavour. That being said, it is still a bowl I would not mind having again. Very innovative and unique!

Feels like summer with the unique refreshing yuzu dip and the chewy tsukemen, not at all salty and goes well together. Juicy bamboo shoots are also a big plus. The chashu pork chunks may not be the most tender, but is flavourful. Overall this dish serves well and I'm glad this famous tokyo chain came to the shores of SG 🍜

(ps. Queue can get long, pps. The water for the stores in Japan is said to come from Mt Afuri)

Afuri Buta Wing Gyoza ($6.90)
I felt their gyoza skin specially made in thin skin and their dipping sauce can be absorbed quite easily through their skin.

Yuzu Ratan Ramen ($15.90)
My sister she found that spicy and Yuzu didn't really complemented well. She recommended that their tsukemen (dry ramen) for chili sauce.

Yuzu Shio Ramen ($15.90)
My sister got original Yuzu flavour that having strong Yuzu (strong) aftertaste.

Shoyu Ramen ($15.90)
I got dashi + Yuzu flavour that having mixed sour and salty flavour between (Yuzu + Miso) aftertaste.

The broth for the shio ramen tasted very light with a hint of yuzu, while the tsukemen noodle was springy and the dip was on the saltier side. Though we applaud the restaurant for the interesting and healthy concept, we felt that both dishes taste pretty average. Would probably stick to enjoying yuzu on our drinks or desserts instead.
