💸 Hakka signature rice bowl: $7.80

Not only does Ah lock serve up great min jiang kueh, they do great hakka rice bowls as well🥣. First of all, there were a good variety of toppings offered and they gave quite a lot for each, super worth hahah💰. Our favourite was definitely the hakka meatball which was so crispy, juicy and perfectly seasoned that we would totally order it if they offered it as a side dish on its own🙈! Their hakka tofu was also surprisingly juicier than other yong tau foo out there. Lastly, loved the mix of vegetables in it which made the meal very balanced🥬. However, we thought that the sauce they gave for the rice was quite little and we couldnt really taste much of it especially after mixing it in🍚. But since there were many toppings to go along with it, not too big of an issue for us! Would love to try their other bowls in the future😌

Minjiangkueh, one of our traditional pancakes, is pillowy soft here and blissfully so. I enjoyed the charcoal MJK with it's generous serving of coconut fillings. Not too sweet and gave a chewy texture. They have many unique flavours here, including matcha! ($1.60). Happy MJK convert here.

💸 Min Jiang Kueh (Peanut, Red bean, Charcoal peanut): $1.60 ea
...
Got ourselves some Min Jiang Kuehs⚫️🟢🟡today for an afternoon snack😄! First time trying Ah Lock & Co and we're glad to say that we love them all. The Peanut Min Jiang Kueh was overflowing with filling (almost too jelat for us) and we love that the peanut filling was the super chunky type, which added a lot of texture to it🥜. In comparison, the Red Bean Min Jiang Kueh had less filling but we actually preferred the red bean flavour to the peanut one! The red bean was super smooth and not too overly sweet, thus we would really love to have more of that red bean filling. Overall, a satisfying afternoon snack that doesnt burn a hole in your wallet!🙆‍♀️

My all time favourite peanut pancake :)

Fluffy , chewy , crisp at the sides and filled generously with molten peanut jam.

Ask for your pancake to be warmed up and you will see It literally thrown into the microwave 🤣.

1.80 is not the cheapest but portions are good.

Meatballs were tender and juicy which is probably due to them using minced chicken thigh meat. The sambal mayo dressing definitely enhanced the well seasoned meatballs.
Broccoli was extremely crispy and tamago cubes were sweet which went really well with the savoury meatballs.
Pretty good food but service given definitely has a lot of room for improvement.

This bowl was filled with a lot of meat and it seems to be a combination of the chicken rice bowl and the signature rice bowl with chicken and meatballs in it. This was extremely filling and very satisfying.
