This bowl of hakka YTF with thunder rice ($6.80) is quite a unique fusion "don".
First up, I loved the meatballs and stuffed tau pok. They were flavourful and had a meaty juiciness complemented by a nice crispiness.
Plus the rice itself was a great mix of textures, as the crunchiness of the different greens combined with the short grained rice and sauce. The earthy taste profile of the rice and the thunder tea simply provided so much comfort.

Price is a little steep for hawker food, but what to do when healthier food are generally priced higher anyway πŸ˜”πŸ˜” But this was pretty worth it considering the amount of effort that went into this bowl! Loved the handmade meatballs and tofu stuffed with minced meat and we really wished there were more!! Thunder tea rice wise, they could definitely use with more varieties of ingredients (maybe chye poh or some nuts) but the tea soup was pretty on point in flavour πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹ Would definitely try this again next time I’m in need of a clean comfort food fix!

Every item of the dish complements well with each other. I enjoyed the meal, and I highly recommend you to try this new age hawker dish. .
It's located at the Yishun Park Hawker Centre, the stall is helm by young (currently age, 25) owner/chef whom took leave from his studies (NTU) to start his hawker stall and at the same time earn money for his school fees.

Ah Pek saw this as Chinese-Japanese fusion food with traditional Hakka YTF and Lei Cha toppings coupled with Japanese rice and presentation. The myriad of ingredients in this bowl came together really well and the beancurd puffs are to die for. It was juicy and flavourful and one could pop those in one after another without stopping.
Thanks @qingxiangsqx for the treat!

The owner suspended his studies to set up this store to fund for his studies. Here’s their Signature Hakka Tofu Bowl which is a medley of Hakka Chinese cuisine, Yong Tau Foo and thunder tea. All proceeds this year goes into funding more opportunity for aspiring Hawkers to make a name for themselves. Head down to Tan Quee Lan Street on 8 June 2018 from 5pm to 11pm. Don’t say I never jio u to go eat ok! Jio already must come! #UncageStreetFood #Tigerbeersg #TigerWhite
