One of the most surprising dish for me is the ๐ข๐๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ข๐บ๐ฒ๐น๐ฒ๐๐๐ฒ ($๐ญ๐ฑ/๐ฎ๐ฑ/๐ฏ๐ฌ). This is nothing like the orh luak commonly found in hawker centres- the plump oysters are stewed in a savoury sauce and served on top of a golden omelette. This is soooo tasty and goes really well with rice - so glad we decided to try this!
Iโm not a big fan of fish but the ๐ง๐ฒ๐ผ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฒ๐ ๐ฆ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐บ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฃ๐ผ๐บ๐ณ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ (๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ) is absolutely delicious. The broth is not too sour and the sweetness of the fish really comes through. Along with salted vegetables, tomatoes and shiitake mushroom, this is one comforting dish not to be missed.
The ๐ง๐ฒ๐ผ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐๐ฐ๐ธ ($๐ญ๐ฑ/๐ฎ๐ฑ/๐ฏ๐ฌ) is another star of the show - the braised duck is very soft and flavourful. A truly classic Teochew dish.
This is light, tasty and refreshing and I love the bouncy texture - goes so well with the citrusy chilli sauce!
Good traditional and rustic teochew food. Ordered pig trotter jelly, oysters omelette, crispy chicken skin with sotong paste, prawn paste chicken, fish maw soup and orh nรฉe. Favorite was the oyster omelette and chicken skin with sotong paste. Both not commonly found.
The highlight of the meal.
3 meat crabs, steamed, juicy sweet inside.
We loved it, shell was cracked when itโs served on the table.
Thankful for the small gathering.
