Have been wanting to try this stall for q a Long time bc their dranks have a local twist to it so I thought it looked rather interesting haha. Laksa cocktail was interesting indeed um v unique I’d say, it’s an acquired taste haha! It’s the Penang laksa kind so abit sour and got dried shrimps at the bottom haha! But their boneless Har Cheong Kai nubbad, although the rest of the food is alright ba. Service is gr8 tho staff r friendly and attentive :-)

So comforting to feast on such great finger foods while having a cocktail customised according to our taste preferences and even mood. Pairing my fruity raspberry cocktail was this awesome XO carrot cake. The distinct wok hey made it so hard to rest in between bites as it was sooo good. And before we knew it, the whole dish was gone in a bat of an eyelid😅 Shall return for more cocktails with a Singapore twist and finger foods like the highly recommended wuxiang soon!

Good portion of radish and mock meat in a secret XO and mushroom sauce mixed in an equally secretive chilli recipe (you can ask for the non-spicy version). The kicker is when you bite into that crispy portion and allow the wok hei to permeate your senses. Trust a 3rd generation Hawker to come up with this glorious dish.

The more flavourful of the noodles at Ah Sam Cold Drink Stall. I would probably recommended this instead of the CKT. Slimey and well coated with sauce, the flavour does get a little overwhelming towards the end though, so it's best to share. Would I order this again?! 🤔 yes, if I'm not the one paying. 😅

Finally tried the much raved about CKT at Ah Sam Cold Drink Stall. Nice noodles, but slightly too oily and not flavourful enough for my liking. Could also have been cos they got my drink order wrong and the not so great service when ordering that made me less accepting of their popular dish. Is this worth a try? Yes. Is it worth $12?! Not to me.

The food menu is scrawled on a chalkboard, offering sides and mains that correspond to its hawker style identity. The char kway teow here is astonishingly legit, packed with plump prawns and yaaaas lup cheong, and fried deliciously without any lack of "wok hei". The only eyebrow-raising factor is the price - $12 for CKT? I think a reasonable price would be around $8 at most $10 factoring in the portion, the shophouse-pub location, and the quality of the dish. Local delights like the salad youtiao and har cheong gai (also kinda ex at $10 each) are pretty yummy sides to down with the "cold drinks".
