Pick this over the wings if you don’t want to get your hands all oily - though I think the traditional me would still prefer to dig her hands into the har cheong gai in the usual wings form. 🤗

This store sells the crispiest har cheong gai I’ve ever had, though some parts were unfortunately quite dry and hard. The fermented shrimp paste was surprisingly light tasting and smelling, but still tasty and salty enough. I wish the wings and drumlets were a little more meaty though. The serving size is huge. There was so much rice and I couldn’t even finish it!

I’ve heard many raving reviews of this place so I’ve been looking forward to it, but I think I personally would stick to my traditional zichar places to get my fix of har cheong gai. It was good, crispy and fragrant, but not spectacular (I wonder if my expectations were too high from all the hype?).

We visited on a Friday evening and the hawker center wasn’t too crowded, so we easily managed to get a seat for two.

Probably my fav har jeong gai in Sg!! Love how the umami shrimp paste really shines through in their batter. It has that distinctive har jeong aroma that you can’t usually find in normal zichar stall’s version. I really like their crust as well, it’s like an airy crispy munch. Soooo satisfying 😋 At $1.80 per wing, it’s my go-to side dish whenever I’m at Yishun Park Hawker!

Known for their signature Har Cheong Kai (Shrimp Paste Fried Chicken), this is a place to satisfy your fried chicken craving.

While they have just wings only options (min 2), check out those Sets menu such as Set A “Wing Wing”. For a full meal completed with aromatic fried rice and sunny side up but it also has two of those delicious shrimp paste wings that’s been double fried so it’s extra crispy!

W.O.W this definitely lived up to its hype and waiting time. The skin was crispy, flavourful and evenly coated. The meat was juicy, tender and very well cooked. Really the most perfect har cheong kai i've ever had, even ahma agreed. For $1.80 per piece (drumstick AND wing), it's definitely a steal and worth the 15 mins wait on a weekday afternoon. 😍

You’re missing out if you’ve never been to @yishunparkhc for @ahtanwings😉.

Crunchy, succulent & not overly greasy. One word to sum it all up, SHIOK😋.
