πŸ’°$5.2.
πŸ“Ah Tan Wings.
Yishun Park Hawker Centre, #01-40

Since opening in September 2017, siblings Tan Wee Yang and Tan Yu Yan have seen brisk business for their fried chicken wings in prawn paste batter, or har cheong gai.
.
Having experimented with over 300 variations before perfecting the still-secret recipe, the chicken is marinated in prawn paste for up to 2 days, coated in their specially-made batter, and deep-fried.
.
Folks flock here for the shatteringly crisp skin, the juicy tender chicken meat within, and the addictive savoury shrimpy salty spice flavours.
.
The pairing with chicken rice, fresh cucumbers, and a spicy tangy sour zesty dipping sauce of chili and lime juice, is equally scrumptious.

This Atas Cutlet (Set B) comes with shrimp paste cutlet, aromatic rice and sunny side up. Mine was served without the sunny side up as they ran out of eggs for the day. The portion of the cutlet is huge and fried till crispy but I actually preferred the wings over the cutlet as the latter was too dry and tough. Not sure if it was because our cutlet was not piping hot or if this is an overcooked piece of cutlet?

Shrimp Paste Cutlet + Aromatic Rice + Egg 》$6.80

The fragrant har cheong gai is fried till golden brown which is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The Atas Wing (Set A) comes with 2 shrimp paste wings & drumlets, aromatic rice and a sunny side up. Dip the wings into their Hainanese chicken rice chilli for extra zing and spice 》$5.20

The only thing was that the wings were prepared beforehand and served upon ordering. It would be even better if they came piping hot but I'm not complaining as their wings are still good and super crispy.

If you love Har Cheong Gai and prefer your fried chicken to be abit flaky instead of those that are full of batter, give this a try. The prawn paste taste wasn’t too over powering as well πŸ˜‹ There are other choices on the menu such as cutlet and chicken wings rice as well.

Ordered Set A with 2 pairs of chicken wings, egg and rice. The chicken was very crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Rice taste good with the chilli given!! Generous portion and value for money.
