After witnessing it make its rounds on Instagram and so many foodies raving positive reviews about it, I am glad that I can finally understand (and tasted) why this bowl of Signature Bee Tai Mak is worth my traveling time from the East to the West. On the first glance, it might look simple and plain, but you will be proven otherwise from the first bite. Without any chilli sauce or vinegar added into it, this bowl of bee tai mak packs so much flavour from their secret blend of sauce and pork lard that it can knock out a boxer in the first round. Throw in some chilli padi if you can take the heat, give it a good mix and savour the multiple layers of flavour and texture from the bite of the bee tai mak to the bouncy fishball, fish roll and fish ‘rulers’. This is definitely a bowl that will be part of my memorable eats’ list and a place that I will highly recommend you come try.

Another gem is the mee pok, and this particular type of noodle is something that I will usually avoid ordering as I am not a huge fan of its flavour and texture, however, the mee pok that was prepared here still retained an al dente texture without the alkaline flavour.

Probably the best dry ‘bee tai mak’ (silver needle noodle) in Singapore. The ingredients taste and feel very fresh. The noodles are best served with additional chili and vinegar. Each bowl costs an average of $5.

This no frills stall is remotely located at Pandan Gardens but one can still expect quite a wait. Advised to avoid patronising on peak days such as Saturdays and Public Holidays while they’re closed on Sundays. Service was extremely good with the staff able to communicate in English and Mandarin effectively.

Will definitely make this a regular visit.

Finally able to make a trip down to @ahhuateochewnoodle Their handmade ingredients are so good especially those fishballs 😋

The early bird...still waits 1 HOUR for this decent bowl of fishball Mee Tai Mak. Got there at 8:30AM on a Saturday morning and was warned by the ladyboss of the waiting time. 😭 everything (other than the noodles) was homemade though. Good quality ingredients. Could have had more noodles (since this was the lowest cost item in the bowl). Clean and clear soup! If only the wait could be reduced by 30-mins!!

Seemed pretty normal but the highlights were the fishball, meatball, fish cakes which were all hand made and it's a cut above the rest.

Have been seeing lotssss of people eat this during circuit breaker. Finally had an opportunity to try earlier this week! Even during a weekday late lunch timing, the queue wait was lonnngg at almost 40mins. But this signature dry meetaimak ($5 + 20 cents for takeaway) is delicious!! Add on the chilli red padi which gives super lots of kick! The bowl of meetaimak comes with small pieces of oil lard (which I removed though because I don't eat fats haha), and the sauce is slightly oily but not overwhelming. I didn't know the her kiao (fish dumpling that triangular one) had to be additionally add on! So do note if you are hoping to try that! This is something that I WILL eat again! Thumbs up! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
