Low price, decent ramen for the price (good to satisfy cravings) but don’t expect too much.

Good amount of chicken and egg.
Requested for less sauce.
Rice too hard
Damage: $10

$14.90 for this if I’m not wrong (correct me if I am I can’t rly rmb), which is way cheaper than other Jap restaurants which sell unagi Don!! And the eel was good too, rather meaty n flavourful!! It’s the jap restaurant beside Aston’s

Ordered Kaisen Don to take away, forgot to check the order on the spot and got home to realise that my food looks so pathetic with missing ikura. Menus always state "photos are for illustration only". But if it's gonna be so different (with missing ingredients, it's called cheating. Left a comment on their website but did not get any reply at all. A total disappointment. Gonna boycott this place and definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Gyudon ($11.90) - Stir-fried barbecue and sweetened onions topped with onsen egg, spring onion, nori and sprinkled with sesame seeds. This Gyudon was quite bland for me and the miso soup was tasteless as well. Belly Mentaiyaki 2 pcs ($3.90) - Half cooked salmon with mentai sauce and flying fish roe.

Never thought Astons would open a Japanese restaurant, so I was really surprised when I found this place at the recently revamped Singpost Centre for affordable Japanese dishes that taste better than the average Jap food fare!

The Gyudon ($11.90±±), along with all the donburi's here, have a relatively larger-than-usual portion. There is a generous portion of sliced beef which is generally tender and flavourful, and the yolk from the sous vide egg flows out beautifully. It is served with greens and yellow pickles along with a bowl of miso soup, which is a little bland, plus the seaweed tastes kinda funky. 😕

Aji Ichi is a value-for-money Japanese restaurant that works as an ideal location if you are looking for inexpensive Japanese food to satisfy your hunger pangs.
