Meat Lover Okonomiyaki [Bacon, Pork Belly and Cheese]: $16.00
Japanese style pizza with cabbage, ginger, scallions, egg, okonomiyaki sauce and bonito flakes

This was a little bit of a lackluster experience for me. For a specialised okonomiyaki shop, it’s ironic that the side dishes tasted better than the actual okonomiyaki. Okonomiyaki was alright, not mind blowing. The taste of pickled ginger was rather overpowering and I couldn’t appreciate the rest of the toppings that we ordered as it was overpowered.

Potato Cheese Mentai: $11.00
Fried potatoes topped with mozzarella cheese and mentai sauce

Potatoes had a nice width which resulted in a really nice crunchy texture, very generous with the mentai sauce πŸ’• love that they served it on a hot plate

Hiyashi Chuka Ramen [spicy]: $12.00
Cold ramen with ham, egg strips, cucumbers, carrots and home made sauce

With its unassuming appearance, this dish was surprisingly good... noodles were al dente and vegetables had a nice crunch! well-balanced sauce was refreshing and the spicy option gave it a kick to the bite

ordered a diy okonomiyaki ($14) potato cheese mentai ($10) and garlic fried rice ($5) - the star has to be the okonomiyaki which tasted pretty authentic (it’s cheaper if you choose to cook it yourself, so we did). fried rice was fragrant and yummy, potato mentai ($10) was so-so, nothing very special about it. the place is a little small so do call in advance to book to avoid waiting! we arrived around 8pm on a weekday and waited for ~15mins.

⭐️ 4/5, will be back if we’re around the area

Went at lunch time and had to wait 30min for a seat. If you do not want to risk having a poor time at lunch with mediocre food and poor service, I suggest not to patron :)

Always love having okonomiyaki for the variety of textures and flavours, and Ajiya does theirs very well! The Ajiya Combo lets you pick any 3 ingredients among their seafood, meat and vegetable toppings. We had the prawn + smoked duck + kimchi. Would say to skip the smoked duck, as they were cut a little small and weren’t as distinct overall. Other than that, it was comforting and well seasoned! We’ll surely be back to try other combinations.
