The Crispy Samgyeopsal Kkal Guksu with Pork Bone Broth ($14.90) is served with handmade noodles in a milky pork bone broth, crispy thick slabs of pork belly and scallion oil. This is quite a comforting and hearty bowl of noodles.

No kidding but this is literally the best kimchi stew I have had in Singapore๐Ÿ˜ The Kimchi Pork Stew ($15.90) comes with a generous portion of kimchi, pork belly and tofu in a rich pork broth that goes so well with rice. Definitely a flavour bomb!

The Jajangmyeon was generous and looked almost too good to dig into. The rich and velvety black bean sauce coated the chewy noodles in such an enticing way. There was a great balance of sweetness of the caramelised onions and the slight bitterness of the black bean sauce too. This is a dish that never goes wrong.

Weโ€™ve had this before and are in love with the pork bone broth. It's sweet, flavourful, and carries this hint of lemongrass (not sure if weโ€™re getting that right) - this makes it very refreshing and not jelat. The samgyeopsal skin is always amazingly crispy yet not hard, with a perfect meat to fat ratio. A spoonful of firm kkalguksu noodles topped with a glorious slice of samgyeopsal makes for the most perfect bite!

This was โ€œvoluminousโ€ and you could taste the broth they used to make it. However, the taste was very one dimensional throughout and we found it hard to finish. This would probably be good for sharing in a larger group.

Their kimchi pancake is different from the usual. This one boasts an extra-crunchy (and oily) texture that teeters on the edge of being cracker-like. However weโ€™re fans of softer pancakes with crispy edges so would pass on this the next time.

No korean meal is complete without banchan. Ajummaโ€™s serves up a standard refillable combi of kimchi, radish, creamy corn and salted seaweed. Everything is okay but be careful of the salt from the seaweed: donโ€™t eat too much!

During mealtimes, you will always see bustling queues or office workers collecting orders from their store. @ajummasg is popular and maintains consistent standards. Located mostly at malls, we would certainly return when we are craving for korean food.
