Checked out Seng Heng Fried Carrot Cake that rendered a long queue on a Saturday evening during dinner time. Waiting time was about 20 minutes. The aunty who was taking orders has a good memory of different orders but was a little hostile while interestingly, the uncle who was frying the carrot cake was neatly dressed in shirt and pants.

There was a mix of white and black carrot cake orders, despite reading that white was the more popular choice. Unlike the black, it came in pretty big blocks, draped over by the egg batter. I usually prefer my carrot cake to be the sweeter black version, so it took a little longer to have it fried. A good ratio of eggs and the carrot cake, I could also taste the wok hei but sadly, lesser preserved radish. Portion was reasonable and the dish wasn’t too oily. Downside though, I had multiple pieces of egg shell in my carrot cake.

Braised Duck Rice, $3. A Mouth-watering plate of braised duck rice with egg, beancurd and braised peanuts! So in love with their authentic yam rice that’s so fragrant! Braised duck meat is so tender and taste so good with that savoury gravy all over it! .

Best avocado juice could only be found in Alexandra Village Food Centre. We frequent this stall 盛丰 #01-11 or King Avocado #01-17. Both are similar in taste but we prefer the former for it is not so sweet. Their strawberries milk shake is tasty too.

Though famous for their prawn mee, opted for pork ribs soup on this cold day. Enjoyed it a lot! Soup is very tasty with tender pork ribs.

If you miss the taste of your primary school canteen, this wanton mee serves up a delicious plate of simple well cooked noodles and handmade wantons. But the delicious power comes from the fried egg you can order on the side. Suddenly, “BAM!” This is a stall in a coffee shop in Alexandra village.

Xiao Long Bao ($4.5)
Fried Dumpling ($6)
Avocado Juice from Mr. Avocado ($4) - not in the picture

One of my favourite hawker centres in Singapore!!! The dumplings and xiao long bao do not need any more introduction as you will see a long queue forming in front of the stall. I also love the food from the Thai stall located at the most corner. Ordered their pad thai and they are yummy. Carrot cake and Oyster Omelette r kinda disappointing; ordered the biggest portion but their portion were quite small and tasted quite salty. Luckily, good old avocado juice from Mr. Avocado never disappoints👍🏼
