$6 for this delicious pack of roasted duck with pickled cabbage and 2 types of chili sauce. The rice drizzled with tasty gravy.

Experience all 4 worlds with their platter for two ($22) which consists of soy sauce chicken, roasted duck, charsiew, and roasted pork (in no order of favourites) 😂
Bursting with flavour in each bite, the meat was pretty tender. If I had to pick favourites, I would say that the charsiew and roasted duck stood out among the rest. The charsiew was caramelised nicely, achieving the golden ratio of meat-to-fat. Albeit a teeny bit tough to pry the meat from the bones, the duck was flavourful and had just the right amount of oil. The flavour of the soy sauce chicken and roasted pork belly were lacklustre as compared to their counterparts.
Ravaged this whole platter within record time as we were just so hungry. It is a decent platter of glistening meat, but definitely not the best that I have tried. Nevertheless, it makes for a good meaty and hearty meal if you are craving for something filling without burning a hole in your pocket ☺

Nothing fantastic, had to eat at the back of the shop due to the lunchtime crowd. Only likes the dumpling soup and for meat, I still prefer Wee Nam Kee

The roast pork is sensational and the charsiu is to die for. Go on weekends where they have the noodles!

A glorious platter for 3 consisted of nicely charred charsiu, roasted pork belly and a roast duck drumstick costs about $25 and is money well spent. Slathered in sauce, the duck is meaty and super flavourful and dont get me started on the pork crackling. Brittle and almost biscuit like, it gave a satisfying crunch with every bite. The meat itself was no slouch and I could literally count the interspacing layers of meat and fat. The charsiu was decent, but if i had a choice, I'd definitely go for the former two especially because they both go so well with the house picked cabbage.

That being said if you want the best bits, its definitely a good idea to go early or face disappointment.

When I am in the mood to pig out on porky stuff that's relatively easy on the pocket, I head over to Alex's Eating House and order up their excellent "char siew" and "sio bak". The former has a deep red hue with lightly charred edges and doesn't taste overly sweet (something I dislike). The latter however, is the one that draws moans of pleasure from me because its crackling skin is extremely crunchy and salty, while the fat-striped meat is so darn juicy.
Pictured above is a $5 portion of "char siew" and $10 worth of the "sio bak", both thrown together on a plate with the house-made sour pickled cabbage that tastes simply amazing with both meats.
