latte topped with Gula Jawa (sugar harvested from coconut palm) and decorated with a pandan leaf ๐Ÿƒ love the ombrรฉ and itโ€™s a huge cup for $7.50 iced! Not overwhelming sweet but tad too milky.

So so pretty ๐ŸŒˆโ˜บ๏ธ and surprisingly my favorite!๐Ÿ˜ the mix of strawberries purรฉe is a good substitute to sugar syrup hehe ๐Ÿ“ personally wouldnโ€™t mind getting it again cos itโ€™s really refreshing!๐Ÿ™Œ

[ Pulat Hitam tart ]
Must have in a Peranakan cafe righttt. Personally the tart was bit too dry for me but does have a good amount of butter aroma. The black glutinous rice was pretty well done but the top of milk kinda overdid it abit. Not amazing but not too bad too๐Ÿ˜Š

New cafe at East Coast selling a wide variety of tarts and insta-worthy drinks!

Orh Nee Tart ($8)
- I love taro and can be really picky, but this taro tart is the bomb! They did not compomise on the orh nee in the tart and it's really thick and flavourful. The tart base is abit hard to cut through with the fork because of it's crispiness.

Yuzu Cheese Tart ($7)
- There's the citrusy yuzu taste and it's quite appetizing. Most cheese tarts would taste jelak eating it alone, but mixing with yuzu takes away the jelak-ness of it.

Crack of Dawn ($7.50)
- The layered colouring in the drink makes for an insta-worthy shot. Nice blend of strawberry puree which complements the butterfly pea tea. In short, it taste like a fruit tea.

I have not tried their mains but their desserts are priced reasonably and they are generous with their fillings.

SATAY CHICKEN: Generous portion of chopped chicken meat that is slightly tough; coated with thick flavorful peanut sauce towards sweet side; with crunchy mixed veggie achar; opted for croissant; croissant is flaky outside but felt the inside a little too dense for my liking..
NYONYA CURRY CHICKEN: Curry taste is fragrant & flavorful; not spicy..
CRACK OF DAWN: Good combination of blue pea tea, soda, orange juice & strawberry coulis; unique taste, refreshing & mildly sweet..
KOPI JAWA: Latte with gula jawa; strong brew coffee without overly milky; a tad sweet though even after waited for the ice to melt; otherwise a good cup of iced coffee..

Pastry + Drink
๐ŸดRedeemed 1-1 pastry + drink with @burpple to enjoy on a picnic at ECP. At $6.50 each (without discount), their tarts are relatively affordable and worth a try! The crisp and thick pastry was just the right level of buttery goodness to pair with the delightful fillings.

Would recommend the ๐Š๐ข๐ง๐š๐ค๐จ ๐ฆ๐จ๐œ๐ก๐ข ๐ญ๐š๐ซ๐ญ (4.5 โญ๏ธ) that was an enjoyable mix of Japanese soy-milk flavoured mochi, red bean and Kinako. While it seems like an odd combination, the soft and chewy mochi paired well the crisp tart base. If nitpicking, we did feel that it could do with slightly more infusion of or dusting of Kinako to enhance the roasted soybean flavour. Black sesame lovers would also be excited to know they offer a black sesame mochi version!

The ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ณ๐ฎ ๐œ๐ก๐ž๐ž๐ฌ๐ž ๐ญ๐š๐ซ๐ญ (3.5 โญ๏ธ) was on the lighter, creamier side with mild refreshing tartness from the yuzu. As a fan of yuzu, personally would have preferred for richer tang and citrus flavour.

Now that itโ€™s on @burpple itโ€™s definitely more enticing to go over for a cafe chill out moment ๐Ÿ’— cos I really do like the space ๐Ÿ’ฏ

The cosy cafe in the East (*again? I know right), offers Peranakan-inspired dishes such as Nyonya Curry Chicken Croissants, house-made Kuehs and tarts.

Since we were full from lunch, we settled for these beautiful ombrรฉ drinks - Lemonade with Blue Pea Tea ($5) and Crack of Dawn ($7.50). The latter was a tad too sweet for my liking, and perhaps a reduction in strawberry coulis would be better.
