Reviews of good food at Amò

Unpretentious and good! Love it that it’s was hearty and comforting just the way Italian food should be.

Burrata was smooth and creamy, the grilled octopus was sooo tender, the squid ink pasta was so comforting. And the tiramisu was a good generous portion for sharing.

With 2 glasses of wine, total bill came up to $200.

Will I come back?
Yes. Food is generally good. Definitely for those who appreciate hearty Italian food.

Medium rare done perfectly well. Meat was rather lean, flavorful, tender and juicy. Served with whole grain mustard and roasted garlic. Nice touch to finish off with the rucola and parmigiano salad.

Flavorful, well seasoned chicken. Somehow, every time I feel excited about ordering chicken, I end up disappointed and having to remind myself “chicken is still chicken at the end of the day”. What was I expecting really?

That said, I loved the roasted potatoes the chicken sat on 🤪

Interesting texture, dense and gritty. Lemony with a nutty base (coarsely chopped nuts) for that crunch!

Soft layers of coffee-infused ladyfingers mascarpone and whipped cream, their tiramisu is to dream for. Velvety, decadent, and bursting with bold coffee flavours, we were glad that the portion was oversized because we can’t get enough of it.

The doughy and thin crust pizza base was adorned a generous touch of truffle and earthy mushrooms paste and fresh mushrooms. Creamy and intense, it is hard to stop at one slice 🍕 .

Truffle mushroom pizza still as awesome. The pork neck was shiok too. #howtonotbefat #burpple

Homemade sponge! 🙌🏻 soaked in espresso. But still a deal breaker for me because there is no liqueur in this tiramisu. Still on a look out for the best tiramisu in SG!

First encounter with ground sumac! Apparently it is a versatile spice with a tangy lemony flavor, although more balanced and less tart than lemon juice. A little goes a long way, a small sprinkle also adds a beautiful pop of color to any dish. And it did! Sundried tomato was a nice touch to the crispy calamari which was nicely coated with a thin layer of batter.

Super rich authentic mushroom mascarpone paste on the pizza base, far cry from the typical earthy notes derived from truffle oil. Love the crusty yet somewhat doughy texture of the base. And crust! Oh, couldn’t even bear to leave any even though I wasn’t intending to stuff myself with carbs. 😅 Love the use of morel mushrooms and the generous shaved pecorino.

Little pillowy delights stuffed with mind blowing flavors. The filling was a smooth paste-y blend of pork and sunchokes. Use of Sunchokes is indeed commendable as it cleverly but not so subtly introduced that nutty sweet element. Having always been a selective ravioli eater, as I only like pumpkin filling and not the typical braised meat or ricotta with anything type, this works perfectly well for me and even reminded me of my fav ravioli from Garibaldi which is so far the only Italian restaurant I know in SG to have pumpkin filling. I don’t know how they do it, but the filling had a somewhat fluffy texture and it did not feel dense or heavy in any way. Truffle butter sauce harmonized perfectly well, taking the earthy notes to the next level. The dish was so beautiful, it really exceeded any conceivable expectations I could have had

The T-bone steak which should actually be christened the Dinosaur steak (because it was huge) is a must order for all steak lovers if you spot it on the daily specials. Perfectly done, this had the nod of approval from everyone around our table. My only gripe is that due to the generous serving, the service team should give patrons some guidance. My friends had ordered two of these after a lot of pizzas and also other mains and as such we really struggled with the second order and couldn't do it the justice it deserves. One of these is enough to feed 5-6 if you are ordering other items from the menu.

So glad to have finally tried this at Amo and yes, this isn't a great shot but what to do when you have a bunch of hungry men waiting to dig in?

Chockful of mushroom, Truffle, mascarpone and Tuscan Pecorino, this pizza is fragrant and incredibly tasty. The best part is that the dough is made out of natural leaven, and it is unexpectedly light and crispy!
