We only realised this was a lesson re-learnt when they served the dish on our table. We did try this and absolutely hated it. Chewy thick glass noodles with chicken and lots of dried chilli. 1 dish we couldn't understand if it was supposed to be Korean or some China Ma La ้บป่พฃ food. A large serving of chicken with vegetables but all 1 taste from the braised dark sauce. Didn't enjoy the chilli, definitely not with our kind of climate. Saving grace was the glass noodles here were less rubberband, more digestible, although we still didn't like it.
Conclusion was that Zzimdak would never be our kind of food, all the more we didn't feel its high price here was justified.

Looks spicier than it looks, people who can't take much spice might want to opt for less chilies ๐Ÿค— Portions were huge as well, one portion was definitely good for 3 or well, 2 forever hungry Raine.
They are currently having a 50% off all mains all day err day till 23 April! Good things must share!

Doesn't come cheap at $50.90 ๐Ÿ’ธ but it was satisfying!! And a little spicy ๐Ÿ”ฅSide dishes like Cold Noodles and Mini Seafood Pancakes failed to impress. Best just stick to the signatures here. Woohoo best catch up with @foldedmemos and @philyra91 after her solo trip in TW!! #burpple

Byol Byol Jjimdak consists of the same good old braised chicken, potatoes, carrots and sweet potato noodles tucked under a warm quilt of melted cheese.ย

Andong Jjimdak (S$46.90++)
Fresh chicken meat mixed with carrots and potatoes and marinated in the spicy ganjang (Korean soy sauce) based sauce, on a bed of thick chewy sweet potato noodles.
Available at @AndongZzimdakSG in @RafflesCitySG
Cold nite called for soupy food. Somehow this reminded me of the dark soya sauce chicken cooked by grandmother at home. The meat was quite boney.

Andong Zzimdak is the first Korean restaurant to specialize in Andong Jjimdak which is a Korean braised chicken dish that originated from Andong of Gyeongsangbuk-do province in Korea. Please read my review at www.hungryghost.sg
