So apiary is always the place I go to whenever i eat dinner in Tanjong Pagar bc it’s one of the more famous ice cream and waffle places in that area haha. But tbh it’s alright!! Tastes like any other ice cream n waffles uh or maybe it’s just me but as long as it’s cold n sweet it’s g so I don’t rly compare so much plus I don’t rly have a v sweet tooth 🤭

After reading reviews on Burpple, I've decided to give Apiary a try. I mean since they've been really popular and there wasn't any queue when I went.

I've had the Bailey's & Brownies & Blue Milk (best seller) ice cream paired with charcoal waffles. The Bailey's and Brownies ice cream I would say is just right not too gelat not too alcohol-y. My friend enjoyed it comparing to other stores which were quite heavy on the Bailey's. Great touch with Brownies btw. The Blue milk on the other hand was fantastic at our first few bites but after awhile it became quite boring/should I say slightly gelat. Pairing them with the charcoal waffles was abit of a wrong choice I would say. Though they were crispy and fluffy on the inside.

Don't get me wrong their ice cream & waffles on its own is decently nice. But pairing it up kinda messes up the taste bud. When you pair it with the ice cream to have it together. You lose the ice cream taste as the waffle overpowers the whole waffle-icecream combi.

It might just be their charcoal waffle mixture today that was on the MORE savory side or maybe it has always been. All in all, I wouldn't come back but it was a great taste bud experience and I finally get to say I've tried Apiary.

Been a few years since I last visited, and Apiary is still going strong with a perpetual crowd! Ordered a double scoop ($8 + $0.50 per premium flavour) of their signature and ferrero rocher. The Apiary flavour has the mild sweetness of milk, balanced by a slightly bitter tinge of cacao nibs. The honey is not explicit and it’s a bit of a pity that they no longer pair it with nuts! Ferrero rocher tastes exactly like its name suggests - very rich with wafer and nuts within.

🍦🧇 blue milk & matcha ice cream with plain waffle ($14)
📍 Apiary, Singapore

I LOVE freshly made waffles with ice cream, and I’m so glad I can finally say that I’ve checked @apiary.sg off my list!

It’s definitely one of the more popular ice cream parlours in Singapore, and although I can understand why, I wouldn’t pay a visit again unless there’s absolutely no snaking queue outside.

Apiary’s blue milk is a milk based ice cream that is infused with blue pea flowers and topped with Himalayan sea salt. The result? A smooth & creamy no-frills icy delight.

Paired this with the matcha ice cream which was earthy enough for a true matcha lover like me 🥰

It might’ve been the batch that we got but the waffle arrived soft all-around, no crispy edges. I didn’t mind since I really enjoyed the waffle batter, which was pretty eggy in flavour.

Charcoal waffle was done well, light and fluffy with the distinctive charred smokey taste. Got the wrong choice of ice cream to go with this, probably a creamier or chocolatey based flavour would be better, but still good. Overall the options are pretty safe, with nice variations, and the quality is pretty good too

Last December, Apiary collaborated with Bailey’s to offer ice cream flavours infused with Bailey’s Original Irish cream.

Charcoal Waffle ($6.50). Although I’ve been to Apiary on multiple occasions, this is my first time having their waffles. Surrounding the waffles, is homemade chocolate sauce and maple syrup.

Personally, I prefer my waffles to be more crispy than what’s served here. It was lacking in Apiary’s version. That aside, the waffles were soft and fluffy.

Bailey’s and Brownies (Premium Scoop). A great pairing of flavours theoretically. Bailey’s original Irish cream ice cream with homemade brownies. Love how they are so generous with the little soft, moist brownie bits that was prominently in every scoop.

However, the Irish cream taste was very faint. It’d be great if they were more generous with the amount of Bailey’s in the ice cream.

Bailey’s Cherry Cupcake (Premium Scoop). Bailey’s Red Velvet Cupcake with morello cherries and chocolate cupcakes. The fruity sweetness from the morello cherries were more prominent than the Bailey’s cream unfortunately.

Bailey’s Iced Chocolate ($7). At least I could taste the Bailey’s shot in this iced chocolate. Would’ve done it with coffee if we went earlier in the day.

So with every scoop of ice cream purchased, they are supposed to give you a Bailey’s drizzle cream. Unfortunately, it wasn’t served to me.
