Located in the heart of Serangoon Gardens, @apollocoffeebar is a Scandinavian-Inspired brunch café, serving a range of brunch items, mains, desserts and artisanal coffees☕️ to satisfy any café-hopper.

👉Salmon Soba Bowl - SGD19.8
poached salmon, nori butter, furikake cherry tomatoes, organic fried egg, cha soba
👉Miso Bacon Risotto - SGD23.5
miso bacon, oyster mushrooms, fried enoki, organic jammy egg, farro grains

Although their mains didn’t quite stand out for me, I’m glad we order their flat white (at night) to share😊.

Special mention goes out to their risotto, which uses farro grains (never hear before🙃) instead of the usual Arborio rice. That resulted in a nice springy bite, without being overly mushy.

I’ve been here a couple of times and I’m glad to say that this place never disappoints. I wouldn’t say that their stuff is mind-blowingly good, but they’re all fail-safe brunch staples. Definitely my go-to place for a satisfying brunch in Serangoon. 🥳

🍄🐖🍝 Their Mushroom Bacon Carbonara ($20.9) is reeeeally creamy & comforting. And as usual, I love how they don’t skimp on their ingredients. 👍🏼

🦐🍝 Cereal Prawn Pasta ($21.4): Spicy Aglio Olio with a local twist to it— featuring their “Hawker-style Cereal Butter Prawn”.

This plate of pasta had the perfect flavour mashup, nailing the sweet and savoury balance. They’re pretty generous with their ingredients as well & everything was well-coated with the aromatic blend of garlic, chilli, butter and cereal — truly an explosion of flavours.💥

Never tried soba done in this manner/ combination before, with a sunny side up, grilled salmon and greek yoghurt mayonnaise by the side?

The soba was chewy (al dente for a better word) and the saltiness of the seasoning and salmon sort of replaced the soba sauce you have in japanese restaurant (but it was too salty for me). Burst the runny yolk and you get to experience a new flavour. The salmon could be done better in my opinion, it was a little over cooked.

I love the interior of this place, and having been here many times, i’ve tried most things on the menu. so far the carbonara & candied bacon waffles are most memorable
