Must visit ! You can enjoy so detailed beautiful cakes. Nice to go with your friend and family to enjoy cakes.
Sure the cafe space are so clean and beautiful cozy place :)

With a higher cream-to-sponge ratio, the MAYU // classic strawberry shortcake ($12) was a fluffy, delicate number. Although I am usually not fond of cream cakes (tbh the amount of cream looked a little intimidating), I liked that the airy chantilly cream had a very gentle milky flavour which wasn’t cloying at all and complemented the fresh seasonal strawberries as well as the strawberry joconde sponge. Love that the fruit was aromatic and sweet. (Note that MAYU is available only on weekends)

A nice, quiet spot to hide from the merciless afternoon heat, Arc-en-ciel Pâtisserie was a more than pleasant find along Neil Road. Like a luscious chocolate cloud (with fun bits of crunch), the DALÍ // dark chocolate mousse cake ($11) was very enjoyable (albeit pricey). Layered with salted caramel dark chocolate ganache, hazelnut feuilletine crunch, and soft cacao nibs chocolate sponge; the cacao nibs whipped ganache was so smooth and light. The chocolate flavour was also pretty complex with hints of savouriness and nuttiness.

And what a thirst quencher, the Poire Mangue Tea ($10) was a brilliant blend with the slightly vegetal pu-erh tea base mixed with sweet pear and bright floral-tasting mango.

Cutie little cake, that’s sweet and sour, rather refreshing. The yakult exterior balances out the internal grapefruit filling. Love it. I paired with black tea, Summer Mango Tea ($7), to wash it all down

Being yet another addition to the Neil Road neighbourhood, Arc-en-Ciel Patisserie is one name that some might find a bit of familiarity in. Yet another patisserie with roots being a home-baker when they had first started out, Arc-en-Ciel Patisserie’s story is pretty similar for that of Flourcrafts Patisssrie’s — their journey in the home-baking scene eventually led to a pop-up stint at BakerX @ Orchard Central; a baking studio and cafe that is run by Far East Organisation to support home-based bakers by featuring different home-based bakers to operate within its premises for a short period of time, allowing these home-based bakers an opportunity to have a go on operating a cafe without committing to the cost of running a permanent establishment. The folks at Arc-en-Ciel Patisserie had been preparing for the opening of their physical space at Neil Road for a quite while; occupying the second level of a shophouse unit along Neil Road, the staircase leading up to Arc-en-Ciel Patisserie is hidden behind a brown door — to take note of the signage located beside the door which indicates their presence upstairs. Upon climbing the flight of stairs, one would be greeted by another door; this time in green, which leads into Arc-en-Ciel Patisserie. The interior of Arc-en-Ciel Patisserie is brightly-lit; white walls with a stone partitioning and furnishings featuring wooden and rattan elements — there are also plenty of plants that help inject life into the space. Being a patisserie, Arc-en-Ciel Patisserie’s offerings revolves around its entremet offerings — they also do offer “A Day in the Park” tasting menu featuring three of their cakes; Lola, Elijah, and Denise; there is also a choice to opt for tea pairings with the cakes as well. The list of beverages available at Arc-en-Ciel Patisserie includes hot tea as well as some interesting iced tea options as wells; examples of iced tea includes the Black Tea Cocoa Macchiato and the Poire Manque Tea.

Skimming through the cakes which they have on the menu, we found ourselves being more keen to give the Lola a try. The Lola is described on the menu as a Guava Pistachio Mousse Cake; we had also decided to opt out of the tea pairing option for our order. Digging straight into Lola, the cake itself comes with a light and smooth guava mousse that is pretty refreshing on its own — a pretty unique element on its own considering how guava is a fruit that is rarely being used in a dessert. Cutting into the cake reveals a pistachio filling within; the pistachio element being predictable in its flavour profile where it was noticeably nutty, but also pairs especially well with the light notes of guava for a heavier and richer taste that provided a good flavour contrast to the entire cake. Further to that, the chunks of pineapple over the top of the cake adds that refreshing bite; further enhances the lightness of the cake from the guava mousse whilst also providing a contrast of textures to the cake. Meanwhile, the cake is also lined with a crumble base at the bottom; this provides some sort of a sweetness that provided yet another dimension of flavours to the cake — all that whilst enhancing the cake in the textural aspect of things. Overall, the unusual combination of elements in the Lola made it a fairly interesting entremet to have — one that gives a someone unique take of flavours, whilst also one that would do well for those who prefer light and clean flavours for their sour-ish desserts; pretty refreshing to the tastebuds as well.

Apart from the Lola, we had also given the Oona a go during our visit to Arc-en-Ciel Patisserie — the Oona being a cake that features elements such as pear, blood orange and chocolate; the Oona also contains alcoholic content as well. When compared against the Lola, Oona has a heavier flavour profile — one that is certainly more “luxe” in comparison considering the elements involved. One thing is for sure though; the execution of the cakes at Arc-en-Ciel Patisserie are pretty consistent — this also meant that the quality of the different cakes remains fairly constant at least between the two cakes that we had went for during our visit to Arc-en-Ciel Patisserie. Arc-en-Ciel Patisserie does has an interesting storyline behind their creations — their cakes are a product of the founder’s life stories and travels, and the name of the cakes also reflects such. Considering how the entremets are priced between $11 to $12 ala-carte (i.e. without the tea pairing), the entremets at Arc-en-Ciel Patisserie are competitively-priced with establishments that are serving the same with similar quality. A clean and minimalist space that is located on the second floor of a shophouse which makes it naturally away from the hustle and bustle on the street level, Arc-en-Ciel Patisserie is one spot that those looking for well-executed entremets should head to — definitely a conducive spot for a girl’s day out to catch-up over some dainty cakes and tea to go along on a weekend afternoon!
