Reviews of good food at Atmastel

I've had my eye our for an authentic Italian diner for a while and Atmastel was recommended to me by Burpple. Safe to say, I wasn't disappointed. Copious use of olive oil and Italian herbs made the Quattro Formaggi (Four Cheese) pizza for me. A bite into its thin crust let loose and appropriate formulation of olive oil and cheeses, a true Mediterranean dish.

Apart from great food, the lively atmosphere of this place makes it great for meetups or even date night. Perhaps a nice jaunt for some of you?

But this isn't about what you need... this is about what you crave with all the fire in your soul... homemade taglioni, quality butter, rich stock and enough truffle shavings to make Batali blush... make sure you eat this one with people you like, or else it's going to be impossible to share... #burpple

Who would have guessed that truffles, pasta and butter would taste so heavenly, so sublime? This is on the daily specials and purely because it's truffles season. Come get yourself a helping before the season ends. So good!

This was absolutely delicious Wonder why we didn't order them before. Well, never too late!

For the sweet of tooth, this is great for wrapping up (heehee - geddit, geddit? 😜) your meal here. The "pillow" is made from the same dough as their pizzas, so you can expect a really good crust.
To make it, Chef Matteo first spreads a generous amount of Nutella over the dough. He then adds almond slices, before fashioning it into a charming four-cornered form with some stretching and folding. After letting it bake in the oven for about 5 minutes, he takes it out, pops on a scoop of vanilla ice-cream and throws crumbled frozen raspberries, more almonds and fresh mint leaves all over. These, as you can imagine, go very well with the piping hot crunchy crust and melting gooey chocolate within.
Do take note that this is one huge ass dessert. So unless the Nutella Pillow is the ONLY thing you plan on eating at Atmastel, I recommend you order it to share. Of my party of four at lunch that day, two of us couldn't finish our quarter.

If you love the luxuriant taste of truffle and buttery sauces, please do yourself a favour and go try this exceptional dish made with fresh tagliolini. I was transported straight up to pasta nirvana from my first bite.
A seasonal special, it is only available till November because it features Truffle Uncinato, the first truffle of autumn. And seriously, this is so good I plan to return for another helping before it disappears from the menu.

It's always a happy occasion when one stumbles on an item in a menu that turns out to be stellar.
You wouldn't think a platter of melted smoked cheese and grilled vegetables can bring as much happiness as it did us. It's probably a combination of my friends and I being really into good food, and the fact that this was very tasty despite its simplicity.

So addictive! These zucchini are thin and really crispy, lightly salted, and choose between the green tomato jam or homemade mayonnaise as dips. All their sauces are created from scratch, freshly from the kitchen, so that explains the quality and their dedication to creating good food.

Raspberry panna cotta. A new creation on the menu, and one with quite a bit of finesse given that the base remained creamy smooth while being absolutely wobbly (all glory on IG story). The specks of lemon zest within and tartness of the raspberry really lifted up the piece. Really properly got to try the desserts this time, and the tiramisu was the unanimous fav, with this and the egg tarts each finding their own different supporters among us 7.

Ending our meal here with this Italian dessert that's very good. The cold espresso blocks littered with chocolate soil for crunch, with kahlua and rum soaked sponge lady fingers and the Tiramisu-classic mascarpone cheese.

The Zuppe Di Pesce ($68) might not be the cheapest thing on the menu but by gosh it’s definitely one of my favourites. Using on market fresh produce sourced directly that morning, you get the freshest seafood on the casserole.

Lovingly simmered in a delicious marinara sauce, it came with barramundi, prawns, mussels, calamari and clams. The spread of well-cooked seafood was generous and amazing and the flavorful umami you get with every bite was well worth every penny. The fare la scarpetta also comes into fruition where you can greedily use the given bread to mop up every last drop of that liquid gold. Trust me you know you wanna :P

If you're looking to jazz up your pizza routine, pop on over to this casual-chic restaurant at South Beach. We like that it's laid-back enough for dinner with friends, yet nicely outfitted for dates and special occasions. The kitchen emphasises fresh artisanal ingredients, and the handmade pizza crusts are baked in a wood-fired oven till crisp, light and airy, both of which justify the higher than usual pizza prices. Look under the Specials section in the pizza menu for a variety of creatively paired toppings. Two favourites with the Burpple community are the Prosciutto & Asparagus ($34), a complex layering of San Daniele aged prosciutto, mozzarella, Grano Padano, broccoli cream and asparagus; as well as the Sausage & Potatoes ($34), which cleverly contrasts savoury sausage with delicate slices of purple sweet potato. End your meal on a sweet note with the Portuguese Egg Tart ($4.20 for two). Dusted liberally with cinnamon, the tart sees an oozing custard encased in flaky crust. Like Burpple Tastemaker Peter Wong says, it tastes just like Christmas.

The most popular appetizer here. This unique treat has thinly shredded zucchini strips and fresh bouncy calamari rings, coated in a light, satisfiyingly crispy batter.
.
Sprinkled with a little salt, yet the natural sweet flavours shine through. Completely unstoppable.

One egg a day keep all the emo-ness away. Right sweetness and tasted like Christmas. However, the eggy texture wasn't constant. 😋😋😋
