Ayam Penyet Ria (Lucky Plaza Level 1)

66 Wishlisted
~$10/pax
Ayam Penyet literally means smashed chicken in Malay, but Ayam Penyet Ria serves more than that. Choose from mashed beef balls, fish, chicken wings, and of course, original chicken. There's only one way to eat fried chicken and rice, and we think you should do it here.

When you need to be satisfied without any pretensions. The sate Ayam was well marinated, charred and hit the right buttons. The Tahu Telor was good but the sauce was a little too watery but still tasted good.

Takeaway for their roasted chicken, which was generous in size and juicy, wasn’t so dry. The chilli sauce given was surprisingly spicy.

I like their deep fried soft shell crab! It is super addictive which keeps you wanting more of it!

$8.90 for chicken, tempeh, tauhu, veg and rice. Love the chili! It is super spicy and addictive. Goes well with the chicken. They have many branches. Besides the lucky plaza branch, I frequent the Far East Plaza branch too.

This is some tasty TEMPEH. The soybean cake was just so fragrant. You could truly taste the nutty beans coming at you. :)

The succulent tender smashed chicken was great but you had to thank the SPICY bitter dense limed chili that helped lift it.
Oh and all those delicious gobsmacking gingery crumbles😋 (9/10 for the crumble)

7.5/10 for the meal

Also, does anyone actually know what to do with the plain stacked boiled veggies? Haha.

I Call This A grease Net.

Cutting it through, it’s akin to spooning pure oil into my mouth 😭

Sure it’s crispy, but the MILD creamy earthy peanut gravy doesn’t do much to lift the flavour or cut the greasiness.

Sure there’s some hidden chili spice in the sauce but it still doesn’t cut it.
